Irish National Holstein Show 2008
It is to be held next Saturday (1st March) in Moira.
Does anybody know what is going?
The new novice class should be interesting.
I am in England at the minute so won't be able to go this year.
I'm relying on some kind Cowtalker to fill me in on all the details!
Thank-you.

According to the Farming Life, it's a new class for those who have not shown before/havn't shown at a major event for the past 3 years.
It might encourage some new faces into the ring. Sounds like a good idea to me anyway.

…
I would have loved to have gone over, but I can't understand why someone from over there hasn't thought to post it on the HUK website in the calendar section or do a press release about it on there, to be honest I wasn't even aware it was on, which is a shame, because I am showing someone from Holland round and they would have enjoyed coming over as well.
I guess that proves Not everyone gets the Farming Life!

Re: Irish National Holstein Show 2008
Champion: Clandeboye Champion Willow
Res Champion: Hilltara Mtoto Dawn
Hon Mention: Hilltara Champion Maude
I am really pleased with Willow winning as we own her dam by storm(EX90). We flushed her to Champion and have 5 pregnancies due in April. We also have a VG88 1st calf maternal sister to Champion Willow by jordan, she was res junior Champion at the Winter fair 2007.

Irish National Holstein Show 2008
Ken Proctar. He did a good job in my opinion. Junior heifer was won by Relough Goldwyn Danna with Ards Champion Ruth in second place, Ballyginniff Jasper White Rose was third.
Senior heifer 1st was Hilltara Jordan Maude, second was Glasson Champion Tina. (I think this is correct)
2nd calver class:1st Hilltara Champion Maude, 2nd Hilltara Jordan Tury, 3rd Majestic Shaker Anna.
3rd calver class: 1st Clandeboye Champion willow, 2nd Clandeboye Jordan Rosina, 3rd Fordwich Austin Moonlight.(mainview)
4th calver class: 1st Hilltara Mtoto Dawn, 2nd Relough Dante Danna, 3rd Blacksnape Aeroline Jet Appel(S McCormick)
Altogether there were around 60 animals present.

Re: Irish National Holstein Show 2008
Thanks JAP1.
How was the new novice section?
Were there many in it?
Who won?
It's nice to hear Willow is on form as a 3rd calver. She is a lovely cow. She must be gathering up a nice wee collection of rosettes!
