Re: March Madness Sale

Top seller was Lot 1, the Advent out of Pledge for $55,000 to Greenlea. 2nd high was the September Storm All-American Fall Yearling for $28,500 to Conant and Butz. 3rd high was Lot 44, a potential 12th generation Excellent by Goldwyn to Budjon, Kietzman and Phoenix for $25,100. 4th high was the Advent out of Encore Electra for $25,000. Averaged $10,150. Really good sale, the heifers looked really good.

You have to be happy to know she is going to a good home.

Lot 44, she was a Goldwyn out of a 93 point Durham that is an 11th generation excellent. Jeash, yes, I was quite pleased that she is going to a great home.

March Madness Sale

why are people paying 20,000 + for unfresh september storms in these sales? Like one in 500 calves out nice enough to really do something with, they just aren't fancy enough in the udder to play this game.

March Madness Sale

Lots of people doing crazy stuff with their cash right now. Look at these sale reports, lots of animals being sold that will never make a ROI.

Re: March Madness Sale

We were the buyer of Lot 2 at the MM sale, that Advent out of Electra. Real nice heifer, great temperment, Tom told me that the family is like that. She is cut like Electra, based on photos. Long, legs that do not need any improvement, ribby, and dairy. One thing she doesn't have is a deep body, still has to grow into her legs. Her dam did stand 64 1/2".

She will be flushed to Jasper, as long as her heat times out for a early June flush, for March calves. The mating was advised by the Culls, the other option was Stormatic, Jasper cost less. She will be bred to Talent as a calf to carry, as Talent settles up nicely.

With Advent behind her, udder promise is good. Had an advent freshen March 1st, scored 86 in the mammary and placed 1st Jr 2yr old, BU at the NY Spring Carousel.

Picked up another heifer at the NY Spring sale, an affirmed backed by 3 generations of excellent with 3 generations of ex mammary. Her 2nd dam is a EX96 Linjet, her dam is a 91pt encore.

I picked up 5 units of Jasper @ 140/unit.. Stormatic was 200-250/unit.
