Re: Regancrest Command Performance Sale

I bid on Lot 15. 1st choice Goldwyn out of Alicia. Started in at 25, but it jumped beyond what I was willing to pay for a 1st choice. I figured 25-30 was a good range, but 32 was a bit much. Big reason why, the family behind her is not persistant. Alicia has a 99 mam, but her dam had a 90 mam, while her gdam had only a 80 mam. Also her dam was 94, because of F&L, as her majors except for F&L were all 90.

Nonetheless, there is a 1st choice being offered from Ashlyn, but that will likely go for 50k+.

Would have been nice to pick up that 1st choice, but ah well, there are others..

Re: Regancrest Command Performance Sale

I hear Lot 21 went for 25k. A similar heifer went for 41k at the Butler sale back on March 1st. IMO that lot 21 went for one heck of a deal..

DurhamXEx95DeborahEx94DarleneXEx95DelliaXEx90Denise..

For 25 IMO was a steal..

Was Lot 18 an Advent x Idee Lustre not reasonable at 20,000? Was it a nice calf?

Isn't it kind of hard to know if something is a steal if you haven't seen the individual? I always thought $25000 was a lot of money, especially for a heifer. A lot of things have to go right to make money on something like that.

Well of course, and thats why id never buy anything that is live, without seeing it myself. My opinion is based on the family, and considering that a heifer from the same dam went for nearly twice as much, then it sounded like a good buy. Who knows, maybe she was hock in, sickle, lacked rib, and wasn't that dairy.
