N.I Holstein Celebration Show & Sale

Just wondering who all is planning/hoping to attend the Northern Ireland Show & Sale in August? ... why not come and plan to make a mini break out of it - lots to see & do - Giants Causeway etc etc.

Any Irish men planning? .. could be very worthwhile coming to the sale considering the exchange rate at present.

I dont even know what I am doing tomorrow, never mind August. What is to be expected at this show and sale? would you pick it over your winter fair?

Re: N.I Holstein Celebration Show & Sale

This should be an excellent show as good if not better than our Winter Fair, being in August it does concern me a little in terms of the in-milk heifer classes most people calf their heifers Sept-Jan, as for the sale time will tell its so far away but I will possibly enter one of the following
Majestic Baxter Amanda
Majestic Laurin Pledge
Majestic Goldwyn Ivory

A increase in milk price is required to make this event a success here's hoping!

You took the words right out of my mouth Majestic1! (there's a lyric for a song somewhere in that!)

If we're still at 16, 15 or 14 ppl in August there won't be to much to 'Celebrate' about!

Re: N.I Holstein Celebration Show & Sale

Thought this deserved a bump as the show and sale is only a month away.

It's being branded "The Causeway Classic" (after the Giant's Causeway on the North Coast of Northern Ireland).

Here is a link to the CAUSEWAY CLASSIC website.

It promises to be a great event with apparently well over 200 head entered for the show.

The sale will have heifers from many of Northern Ireland's best cows and cow families as well as well known PI families.

Probably the most exciting lot in the sale, and up there with the very best lots to be sold anywhere this year, is a first choice Goldwyn out of Ambrosia herself, due 3 weeks after the sale!

It's not too late to book flights etc! Visit the above website for more information.
