I take it the more southern breeders didn't travel in numbers? Forbibben vixan was a mid-class cow at a few more southern shows. Vixans do it again, Great family to produce the champions.

The show was fantastically attended, the support and sponsorship this show attracts is second to none, and was worthy of the Judges praise for the support it obtained.
With regards to the cows in the Baileys section, I felt he went with the right cow, it was a difficult class that had many different sorts in. The Forbidden Vixan was the cow with the least faults, and the most balanced cow on the day.

Re: Baileys All Ireland Cow Competition 2009

A very difficult show to judge but I felt the judge did a good job. Personaly I dont think he went with the best cow at the show. However he went with the cow that looked best on the day and in a class where you have cows of different lactations and indeed stage of lactation, I could only commend a judge that goes with what is "hottest" on the day. It is only a snapshot of what cows look like on any given day and Vixan looked best. The minor placings were a little varied but I felt the judge(having selected a good champion) was only going with his cows of preference regardless of "hotness" on the day. A good job done. Btw a super show in terms of cows, sponsors, show commitee, attendance and exibitor support, well done to all concerned!

Let there be balance.
