Lawn Boy P Red

Hi Christof, why no talk about about this bull, he ticks a lot of your boxes, being polled and red, as well as having a different maternal pedigree, shallow udders and excellent health traits?

Re: Lawn Boy P Red

Thanks - He comes by his health traits honestly, Bacculum is one of those underrated bulls. Those who have them like them, and at 3.67 for herd life he is right about on top. They are small but, with with unbelievable udders, and F&L`s, thats the 3 biggest reasons why they stay around.

Re: Lawn Boy P Red

Hi Smous,

I was curious if I was the only one who recognized the bull emoticon
Yes, I like the bull very much. For me as red Polled Holstein breeder it is the bull I waited for. I hope the semen soon arrives here in Germany. Some embryos from the US with Lawn Boy as father are on the way, too. Daughters of the bull can be seen here:

http://www.selectsires.com/dairy/gallery/7HO08223.html

I think it is very impressive, that the cow Lawn Boy Mary-Red, that can be seen there, has an 74 points dam and an 66 points granddam!

In my eyes the bull is a great step forward for the polled breeding. He is outcross on many Red Holstein lines and on most of the polled lines. And he is Rubens genetic with good rumps. This can not be found easily!

Regards,
Christof

Good news, I spoke to WWS UK , he qualifies and they will bring him in at £15/straw.
Anyone in the UK going to use him?- Then you can join the polled breeders club. emoticon

Re: Lawn Boy P Red

Hi DD
No , I had the last of Roberts polled cows when I started off, and still have decendants now.
We used to be neighbours and I worked for him when I left school.Do you know him well? I will say hi from you when I speak to him next if you PM me your name.
