FRADON REDLINER

I recently heard of another case of a deformed redliner in MN. It was a red heifer born with very small, curled up, undeveloped legs.

I wonder how Mayjays are coming along. I believe he mentioned he had some calving in starting in May.
Never heard of a bull producing so many calves with physical deformations. i would think they would need to pull him off the shelves with anymore of this going on.

Herniated rumen? What is involved with that operation? Mind boggling.

not sure exactly, they push it back where it belongs and tie it down, sort of like a rumen da I guess. While in there they realized the ribs were missing and pretty much guarnteed that the calf will get a da with the amount of excess space afforded from no ribs, the vets had only ever seen one before.

Re: FRADON REDLINER

Saw a redliner the other day when I went up to get 5 units of Bolivia I had ordered, at a farm. Nice calf, with a nice square rump. She looked dairy, back legs I would like to see in a few months, nothing that stood out. BUT she was still young, and those legs change in a month.
