There is 300 young bulls higher than him on genomic without counting some new one in april ... If he compete against those bulls in 3 years when each have daughters in their proof don`t you think he start with 2 stikes ? I think he start with 3 strikes...

He is not worth $50 but I can't blame Semex for pricing him at that. Those red breeders would buy anything.
debutante, are you suggesting that any young sire that isn't at the top of the genomics list isn't worth testing?
Genomics is a "tool" to aid in identifying superior animals, not the holy grail of genetics

Synergy1,
You seem to not understand what are my points in relation to that bull and I apologise maybe it`s my english writing that is so so...
I never said that those young bulls in the top 300-400 or 500 genomic should not be tested , they need to be, but a bull that already start at 2300 ctpi vs a 2000ctpi has more chance to past the ultimate test thats it. They will be bulls that will make jump and down from their genomic between 60% reliability and 90% and the only way to know what they will do it`s for them to add daughters in their proof, maybe Shaquille will jump to 2300ctpi after he put 200 daughters ?

Semex raised his price because he couldn't keep up with demand and wanted to start banking smen on him

I had used some Shaquille semen in my herd a while back and I will say he seems to be a really good settler if nothing else. Stuck several problem breeders for me.

Re: Deslacs Shaquille
What are the ''genomic positives '' for this bull? Is he milk,health,udder,feet/legs ? Being from Aeroflowers I would very much doubt he is going to be a megamilk and production bull.

I agree with this statement. it was also a tool for the units to get rid of the bulls they figured wouldnt cut it so they could reduce there housing costs. one day it will come to be that bulls will be genomed on farm so that the units wont even have to feed the ones they dont figure can cut it.
