New market for milk?
Had a guy come into the farm today, looking for milk from a fresh calved cow. Nothing unusual, regularly get local sheep guys looking for colostrum for lambs. Except this guy wants it for his racing pigeons! Offered me ten pounds for 4 litres, lets hope it catches on!

Cant see it i know we are in the Sainsbury wiseman group thingy and our "chairman" is not milk recorded for a start and come to stop and think alot arent . Heard alot of nonsnse they suggesting we got to do better and compulsory milk recording isnt one but alot more sensible than most . Marketing of secondary products is one we have got to learn , calves and barrens to you and me.

Re: …
I have herad this rumour , presumably they want individual cell counts.
More worrying is the prohibition on cattle housed on slats ( there goes most of Ayrshire then) and no calf exports.
I`ve even heard it said they only want farms with a successor in place !

There is one way to get farms with a successor and that is pay enough so that at least current generation can see a living it and start to encourage a successor.
Anyone with DFoB ? i heard of 2 farmers that got less than 10p fpr may milk with decent quality something to do with comparing to last years profile.
