Milk Price - Thinking outside the milkcan
Why is it when times are bad no one asks the simple question of what are dairymen willing to do to fix this problem? They say the dairyman aren't willing to organize for their own benefit, is this because it is more adventageous to have us disorganized and vulnerable to market swings so we have to accept a lower price for our milk?
My belief that if dairymen were posed this question "Would you be willing to reduce milk flow 2-5% when needed to match the demand in order to maintain a price which would be breakeven or better at all times?"
This solution could be done at no cost to any dairyman, could be done as needed to match the current demand for dairy products, and could be a permanent solution and give the producer a stable price in a free market.
