Cross compliance - no more PRIDs

Anyone else spotted that if you claim single payment in England (sorry not sure about other EU countries)you'll not be allowed to use PRIDs to induce heats after Oct under SMR 10? (Nor your vet)

Re: Cross compliance - no more PRIDs

yes sponging sheep is covered (sorry for pun!) by this, not sure about the rest, go to rpa website www.rpa.gov.uk and download cross compliance 2006 supplement which includes changes to SMR 10. I picked this up initially from the cross compliance website where you can post questions so make Momenta earn their money :-)

Re: Cross compliance - no more PRIDs

The changes to SMR 10 are listed in the cross compliance handbook 2006 NOT in the 2006 edition supplement so you all should have read it before you sent in your SFP 2006 FORM as you all admit to having read the book and fully understood it by signing thre form (its part of the declaration I believe).

Our vet tells us that teh makers of PRIDs have had to take the capsule off now and give as an injection. So what has been achieved by yet more legislation?

No choice basically because the drugs they are banning can be used in higher concentrations as growth promoters.

Planipart which most of us have used in certain circumstances is more or less angeldust and we all know what that stuff is
