posticon Good day from Alberta

Hi,
Greatings to you all from 'sunny alberta' where we currently have 6 inches of new snow..sigh.

We run a samll angus herd and have a few horses. I have some training and experience as a farrier and have reciently purchased a tipping table so that I can trim the unruly donkeys and horses around. My own cattle occasionaly come up lame and the table is sure to help.

Since I have the table and an very interested in horse and cattle hooves, I got a book: Cattle Footcare and Claw Trimming by E. Touddaint Raven and I have to say I am very impressed. A lot of things that I noticed while trimming horses (brusies from nowhere) are very well explained in the book.

Has anyone else read this book? Any comments to share?

Welcome in! Wonderful book, but I sometimes scratched my head over the English translation of the Dutch terms for some common foot ailments.
