Hi Everyone
Have been reading cowtalk for several months and really enjoy the different views. Looking forward to adding my thoughts now. Work with a 60 cow registered holstein and jersey herd where i own about 5 milking and 12 heifers. Also involved in the AI industry and work some as a fitter. Looking forward to discussing the hot topics with everyone

Re: Hi Everyone
Thanks for the Welcome all! I am on MD PA border, US so not associated with that farm in Nova Scotia. My father used the SanHaven prefix years ago but nothing real noteworthy from it. Perhaps someday i will be lucky enough to change that and breed some well respected individual and if nothing else its fun to try like hell.

Hi Everyone
Ahh, that's a great family!
Brooke is definitely one of the most influential cows in our herd - she's still going strong! - Recently calved out with twin heifers.
As far as that Paradox - did she turn out well?

Re: Hi Everyone
We like the paradox alot. She'll never be a big time show cow or real high scorer but i describe her as the perfect cow for our herd. shes rather small but has alot of capacity, great feet and legs and beautiful udder. Currently scored 87 with 3rd calf. could use more front end i guess but milks well for us. We have a lakeside heifer from her due in about a month and a sept storm that went 86 tail end of her 1st lactation. Also 2 talent bulls if you know anyone looking. We also have about 13 calves from miatas talent son at taurus that we are real excited about. prolly 6 or so more preg and weve gone back to use him again. I really learned to appreciate alot about the miata cow once i worked with her everyday. Just wish we could have got a picture that did her justice. Anyway thanks for your interest and im sure it will be fun chatting with you.

Hi Everyone
We haven't really used Paradox to much - haven't really heard that many great things about him - some like him, some don't.
Your's sounds like one of the more stand out Paradox's I've ever heard of ....
Are you traveling to KY in November? Should be a good show down there...
