Re: Welcome!
Yes, im sorry it was rude of me to post without introducing myself-bit new to it.
I am andrew ganley age 41 on a 110 acre rented farm near bristol .Ped. holsteins, sold the cows 18 months ago-couldnt make it pay.But now back with the heifers ,on a better milk contract. To my shame im now a direct supplier ,with a small local company. 50 in the milking group at present ,half being naturally polled.
Married to Amanda ,the horsey one -if youre local (charyman !)shes an equine dentist ,gives dressage lessons and is a listed dressage judge.
Have a7 year old daughter -Effie , who thinks she knows everything-dont know where she gets that from!
We have 4 horses including a foal born july.

Re: Welcome!
Linn Gullberg, yeah thats me. I am 22 and from Sweden. I am rigth now relif milking but only this month out then I am going to the States again. Yes I suppose I have to say again.
We use to have cows at home but sold out, it kind of nice free to travel now. I like to work with good cows and thats why I like to go to shows and sales.
I was working for Continental Holsteins Alberta, Canada last year which was great really good cows and Norm himself had alot to learn me.
The years before that was I in the states. I went to school for six months, Short Course, I say great a nice and short course of animal sience were you learn the most! I also worked at some farms. Sigwarths in Iowa was the main place and everyday work. When it was show time I went up to Wisconsin to help Mark an Nicky, Rosedale. Tell you it was something else to work in the crew of Redrose when she was Supreme. Then I also got to work some sales and shows with Kietzmans crew. A great experience.
Fantasy Holstein, Guido Oitana is usually the person I help when I go there. I would say Italy have some of the best cows in Europe, really like it there!
I suppose that was all from me hope to see you out there, will be in the states, Iowa this summer.
Take Care!

Re: Welcome!
Hey there!! just another woman who`s crazy about cows.. I´m 25 and was bred n born in Sweden, raised on a dairy farm were i more or less lived in the barn..after my graduation in year 2000 i went for Canada and the States were I worked on farms and did some shows(RAWF,WDE was some). I´ve been around, doing this and that, worked as a sales rep. at semex sweden for a couple of years n doing a lot of shows with both my own and some friends cattle. Right now I´m working with my dad´s farm, we milk 40 head of cows (Holstein, Ayrshire) but we´re selling the herd in september so there´s quite a lot to do right now..that`s a little bit of my story!!

Re: Welcome!
Hello all!
I'm a 22 year old farm girl from Massachusetts. At the moment (due to school and such) I am not on a farm, hoping to change that soon, though. All of my experience is with small farms milking less than 100 cows. One was all registered Jerseys and the other was registered Holsteins and a few Jerseys. I've been fortunate enough to work with some really high rated animals. The mixed herd is made up of 50% Ex and 50% VG cows and they have a 95pt. Jersey!
My primary interest lies in calf care and management and nutrition.
