My youngest started Pre K last week. They made an arts and craft project based around a cow jumping over the moon. He colored the cow purple.

Obviously I failed somewhere along the line. So I asked him why he did that. His response: "I have always wanted a purple cow."

I never saw a purple cow;
I never hope to see one;
but I can tell you anyhow;
I'd rather see than be one!

Poem sticks in my mind as soon as I think of purple cows emoticon

from somewhere my son has picked up an ac/dc chorus and so
to the accompnement of lots of green stuff in the pit while milking he bellowed out TNT I'M DYNAMITE while stomping up and down the pit thumping an old bolt against any bit of metal he could reach.

this ,of course, made him extremely popular with his father who threatened to dynamite him from the dairy.

I have seen that one as well. My oldest claims he likes that "All night long song". When quizzed about what he thinks that song is about, he says "a fun party". I tell him he is right, and hope that he goes back to singing other songs. My wife wonders why they are only allowed to listen to talk radio, when they ride with me.

My 5 year old son loves "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock. It makes him think of up north with his aunts and uncles.

While loading the wagon yesterday evening the wee man (3 & 1/2) asked 'Dad, how silage get made?' I asked him if he remembered cutting the grass in the summer and sitting in the harvester while the grass was going into the trailers? I told him the silage was that grass now.

Without missing a beat he said 'that's magic Dad, like a rabbit out of a hat!' You have to love his estimation of the whole thing, who needs science lessons?!!

Going back to embarassing songs the children start singing. . . . . . My son was listening to the ipod the other day when I heard him singing bits of a song that I couldn't quite place. . . .shortly after I was a little horrified to hear the words of Buckcherry coming out of his mouth. . . .WHOOPS!

on an aside....
last week on our way to a holstein dinner my son asked where does the sun go when it goes down and after explaining it goes around the other side of the world and that the moon comes up to replace it.He suddenly started to sing the chorus of one of kenny chesneys songs " when the sun goes down we'll be groovin when the sun goes down we'll be hot etc.
what surprised me is its been weeks since we played the cd and that he had the tune and words right too
