Dear Santa

I've been extremely good this year. . .I don't want much for Christmas, but if you could make me a PROMISE, I promise that I will look after your PROMISE. . . .and hopefully make lots of money from it!

Re: …

Good-luck with that wish list, not too optimistic here. Crippled and dying cows, sick kids and more snow for the time of year than we've had in years. Sweet cheeks ain't loving doing the dishes the old fashioned way either. On the flip side, I sold thirteen head to the first buyer we've had in years. This year I can afford an apple and an orange for everyone for christmas.

Great, I'll look forward to receiving them. emoticon

All I want for Christmas is for the milk price to keep rising, or at least not to drop back again.

Re: …

yes you're right,'em young 'uns today don't realize that mild weather come at a cost.
thanks to our climate, such as it used to be, we only need to use a fraction of the bug and weed killing chemicals that you in the lower fourtyeights of europe use per acre/year.
the mild winters in recent years have made it possible for a short list of new (to us) and exotic diseases to make it's way into our country. I'm affraid the list will continue to grow with every mild winter we'll have. here's a link for Camilla to ponder "link" ps. I prefer the original "song" but the video in the first version is more in line with what I'd like to convey.

all I want for Christmas is a bottle of that "liquid evil" they make at Islay, some sentimental stuff on telly and some kleenex emoticon

True ! But i still don´t have too like it !
Ploughing and shovel snow instead of celebreating x-mas with family
 emoticon

Remember that Sweden is a very rectangular/oblong country. Up north they have lots of snow and very cold winters. Were i live we usually have a couple of weeks with snow in Jan- Feb. And in southern part of our country there is almost never any snow...

What about you Broa, do you use to have snow on your island ?

Many times i wish a was born in a warmer country, especially in our cold periods, when i constantly are freezing, i don´t like to freeze... emoticon

Nice song! I was trying to work out the translation..is it something like 'Another Christmas song'

the title is "more Christmas" they are singing about how they want more of everything we associate with Christmas, more snow, more Santas, more of the typical Chrismas food and snacks, more Christmas trees. in some sense the song conveys some of the same feelings as that of the Queens "I want it all"

Camilla, had a couple of days of snow in mid november but nothing since. I don't much mind the cold, it's the wet and windy that gets me. nothing worse than just above freezing, a 100% humidity and a vicious gale to make sure it goes straigh through you. emoticon

A farm with grass will be nice, or some rain as well as keeping the milk price high and lowering feed prices...

A subscription to HI would be nice too

All I want for Christmas.....2007

.....is to not feel guilty or put the dress back on the rack without trying it on after I look at the pricetag. It would be nice to just buy something frivilous without looking at the price or having it be either farm related or taxdeductible
....to lose the spare tyre I gained this year
I wish....
actualy there is not a lot I need - bought a new dishwasher and washing machine in november.the boss killed his 4 wheeler once too often and bought a 4x4 honda 420 last week courtesy of the overdraft and I have been offically given permission to buy decent (read expensive)seatcovers for the ute - probaby sheepskin.(Q. I suffer from getting zapped when I get out of it - is sheepskin antistatic?)
Im also allowed to order a new silo to be put next to my calfshed so I dont have to lug grain buckets for miles.amazing what letting the otherhalf do can acheive!
so i hope santa brings you all what your heart desires

I must have been a realy naughty girl this year !
I´ll did´t get what a wished for....

Healthy cows ? Not at all...

Some cattle have got suspected Listeria, because of bad silage. Last 2 weeks = 4 Mastitis, 2 Aborted calfes ( 1 this morning ) & 1 stillborn.

I´m heartbroken emoticon
No , joy for this X-mas

Re: All I want for Christmas.....2007

Sorry to hear that emoticon

My Dad has ventured into Pedigree Aberdeen Angus. He's only had them for a couple of weeks, and he only bought eight including two with calves at foot.He has already lost a 3 month old calf with a 'busted gut' and this morning the first one that was bought in calf had a dead heifer.
I quick reminder of the joys of keeping livestock for him.
