Trip to Southern Ireland

I know this is not a travel forum, but maybe someone familiar with the region can help me anyway:
I am planning a trip to Ireland with my girl friend in April. We will stay four nights in Killarney and four nights close to Cork as she worked for a few months on a farm there four years ago.
Can anyone tell me which places we should absolutely visit in Cork and Kerry? Planned Cork City, Killarney National Park, Dingle, maybe Ring of Kerry...

If you are flying into Cork, and not adverse to seeing a few cows whilst you are there. . . then Barretts Laurelmore herd is literally a stones throw and minutes from the airport, lovely people and some great cows.

The cable car to Dursey Island is quite spectacular - well if you are not afraid of heights....and are brave enough when you see it and wonder whether it has passed its MOT...

It seems that sheep have priority when crossing...and that is licensed to carry three passengers and a cow...

You can see sharks swimming below in the sea if you are lucky...and we saw around 100 dolphins from the most western point of the island.

Re: Trip to Southern Ireland

Ashford castle is about 3 hours away from Cork/Kerry.

Herds to try visit in area- Laurelmore of Barrett family, the famous Cradenhill herd- home of melissa Grand European champ 04 and world class famillies, Donal Ring's Richardstown herd and Kirby's Smearlview home to a great line of Fradon's Maude family.

Places to visit- Cork has blarney castle, Kinsale is a nice seaside town with great history plus the best places to eat out and Cobh/Fota is a nice day out.

Killarney has Ross castle, muckross house and old style farm, some of the best scenic veiws and a donkey ride up the gap of dunloe.

some more suggestions for your trip, hope you have a good time

Re: Trip to Southern Ireland

I visited Ireland last spring with a group of breeders. We stayed only one night in Cork, so can't tell much about the places that you must see over there, but we visited Laurelmore and Cradenhill herds and I really liked both. So those two I can recommend emoticon
