Euro 2008 fantasy football league

I have set a league again if anyone is interested. The leauge is called COWTALK EURO 2008 and the password is COWS.

How to Play

The Virgin Media Fantasy Football game is FREE to play.

To enter a fantasy football team you must select 11 players within your budget of 75 stars. Teams must then be submitted to score points in the game. You can either manually pick a team using your footballing know-how, or use the ‘Lucky Dip’ option, where the computer picks a team for you.

Important: Up until 17.00 (UK time) on 6th June 2008 there is a transfer amnesty - you can shuffle your team around to your heart's content without using any of your transfers. Transfers made after the transfer window closes will be taken from your transfers allocation for the game.

The transfer window closes at 17.00 (UK time) on 6th June 2008. All teams which are complete when the transfer window closes will be automatically submitted. Any team incomplete at this deadline must manually submit their teams, and will not score points until they do so. Teams will not score points until the next matches after they are submitted.

You may register teams at any time before or during the tournament. Any teams registered before the transfer amnesty closes will start scoring points at the 7th June 2008. Any teams registered once the tournament has started will only score points from the date the team is submitted. Any transfers made once teams are submitted will count against your daily transfer allocation.

Ok, so my son and I now have a bet.

The overall loser gets to wash my wife's people carrier, wearing a shirt belonging to and selected by my wife.

I am suddenly a lot more interested in Euro 2008. I promise to post any embarrassing photos.

Euro 2008 fantasy football league

I'm confused, I had a look at the top 2 teams in our league with 92 & 76 points respectively. however, the maths don't seem to be adding up, am I missing something here??

Euro 2008 fantasy football league

so there is a daily transfer allocation, meaning that once group A is complete you can transfer out any players you may have from group A teams, replace them with Group B players and these players can then score points also???? Craziest scoring system for a fantasy league I've ever competed in!!!!

Re: Euro 2008 fantasy football league

Cowtalk have played this format for football, rugby and cricket now. Once you're used to it it is fun, but can be a little intense at times. Mark and I can both get a little competitive. Getting as many '3 points for a win' as you can is more crucial than trying to predict who will score goals.

I'll have a lower scoring day today. I'e chucked every transfer I had available at the first 2 days, but don't much fancy trying to pick winners out of group C.

Wow Mark, you don`t expect Spain to win tonight with eight of their players in your team, do you? emoticon That should fairly move your team up in the league!

There'll be lots of Spaniards in plenty of teams come 17.00 tonight. I'm expecting to have 5.

Wish I had more in my team, but only took three with my today`s transfer allocation.
Unfortunately I had many French players in my team yesterday plus wasting one transfer with substituting in Vieira before finding out that he is injured. emoticon

Re: Euro 2008 fantasy football league

Dispite the German defeat i guess things won't have changed much in our league as we all thought Germany couldn't lose, "it's a funny old game Saint".

Easy said now but last night i had thought about going heavy on Croatia, but then i looked at what the league leaders had choosen and reakoned better not.

Not sure that Germany couldn't lose, but having watched them against Austria I didn't think Croatia had enough cutting edge up front to win.

Alan should have had a better day than Mark and I once the scores are in.

I've backed all 3 quarter finals wrongly so far with my fantasy team. Been very fortunate only to get burned by Germany because Mark and Alan were also on Croatia and Holland.

At least 3 Spaniards in my team for tonight, so what odds that Italy will win?
