Transfer Season Opinion
As silly season hots up there are some crazy stories around, mainly for me as a Liverpool fan I fear Rafa has lost all he's marbles. Surely he is not serious about Robbie Keane, a stiker lacking vision, not near the quality Liverpool need.

Maybe Rafa's just spotted that empty space on the bench where Crouchie used to sit!!

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Can't see why Benitez thinks selling Alonso and Finnan to buy Barry is good business. Barry doesn't seem to offer much more than Alonso.
Also can't understand why he isn't busting everything he possibly can to go for David Villa. Works well with Torres, and unless Liverpool can score more goals they aren't going to seriously challenge United & Chelsea for the Premiership.

Only if you're wearing claret & blue tinted glasses.
Just look at the quality of those keeping Alonso out of the Spanish starting line-up, he's certainly no donkey.

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Barry and Keane could cost £40 million, that would be a serious waste of money. 2 shop dummys could sit on the bench instead.

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Frankly i think Liverpool are miles away from denting the top two, when they were the premier team in england years back stability was the name of the game there, a stable board, managers appointed from within, one or two young players blooded every year, now i know football is a very different game today but with American owners who can't seem to decide whether they want the club or not,a manager who doesn't seem sure who or what he wants i reckon they could struggle to be ahead of Everton, shame really,i'm not a pool fan at all but it would be good to see their name on that trophy!

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
With Keane move to Anfield as Crouch replacement looking more likely, 1 question remains, Can he do the robot?

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
It appears the England management team had the opposite tint to glasses as me. Barry and Gerrard in midfield for England for more games could well have seen Sven still in a job, or England at the Euros. He is a driven, passionate player, that has a top workrate and doesnt give the ball away. Alonso is a great player, but just doesnt stand up against Barry im afraid. I hear Arsenal are putting in a bid too. At least Wenger would play him every week

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Barry will be a good signing for Liverpool I can't believe it has taken one of the big teams this long to notice his ability, if they then bought Bentley for the right hand side and maybe added Santa cruz to the squad and a footballer to play at the back they may be a bit closer to winning the title

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Villa are a big club, I could feel the tradition when I went there last season,
But clubs a judged on money not tradition or good managment these days, if FIFA stopped clubs running up such huge dedt then Chelsea Man Utd and Liverpool would have to be run very differently and maybe we would have more of a level playing field again.
Steve Sidwell is a good signing I'm a Reading fan and saw him play for three seasons

Re: Transfer Season Opinion
Delighted with Sidwell, I was disappointed he didnt play more for Chelsea. I wont mention last season for you, but I do think you missed him. You have a shrewd manager there, I would put a fiver on you getting straight back up (please get ahead of Birmingham!!)
