I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the passing of the thriller that liked to beat it. If he hadn't of croaked, he would have grabbed something like 50 million U.S. greenbacks from you limies.

RIP, it is a shame all of the jokes circulated far too soon.

My favorite joke:

They are going to melt Michael Jackson down into lego blocks, so that kids have something they really want to play with.

R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

So calling someone a bigot is cool, because they don't like someone else's opinion? I know what bigot means, I fail to see how it applies to this.

I will gladly wear the label of bigot, for failing to worship at the alter of a rich guy who got away with child molestation.

Your reference says:
big⋅ot  –noun a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

I don't see where the label of bigot applies either?

It would seem that somes of the posts above are utterly intolerant of the differing view, from their own, of the judge and jury which found MJ not guilty. Fits pretty well with the definition.

personally, there is no way that I can make a judgement that months of evidence and years of investigation did not answer.

I say give the recently deceased his dignity and reflect on his achievements - the other side of his personality will fill colun inches for tens of years into the future - and probaly leave us none the wiser as to what actually happened.

The point here is that, no, the legal system is not an arbiter of truth. The system is dependent on if there is enough evidence to convict someone of a crime. And that decision is left in the hands of the jury. And sometimes the jury gets it wrong, and sometimes they get it right, but their decision is independent of the truth. My opinion is that he was guilty, and he got away with it. Doesn't mean I am a

Sometimes innocent people go to jail, and sometimes the guilty walk away without punishment. OJ Simpson was looking for the "real" killers for years, until his ugly violent side was caught on tape committing a crime.

I grew up hating his music, he actually rates below Fleetwood Mac and the dogs that bark "Jingle Bells" on my totem of musical ability. I am sick of all the news media having to plant a big sloppy kiss on his trainwreck of a legacy. Get on with the real important stuff. Michael Jackson has not been relevant since 1992.

Re: R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

The freak show walked on the second trial for child molesting. However, lets not forget that he had to pay the victim from his first trial off to stay out of jail. Any grown man who sleeps in the same bed with children that he isn't related to is a creep. Let me ask you guys this question, would you have allowed your children to stay overnight at neverland ranch?

Re: R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

I'm not very interested in the Michael Jackson thing. I certainly do not confess to know anything about the man or his behaviour. I was just curious about the use of the word bigot in this thread.

I still don't see how the the accusation that Buckeye's remarks are bigoted is correct. I would have expected perhaps an accusation from donkey5 that Buckeye was making unsubstantiated slurs on Jackson's charater.

Surely Buckeye could equally well call donkey5 bigotted for being intolerant of Buckeye's opinion?

I guess I am still looking for an explanation then. Why use the word "bigot"? That is a big, nasty word to throw out, and I don't see where it applies.

Child Molestation is not cool. Like Jeash said, he had already paid hush money to keep another accuser quiet.

And paedophile isn't a big nasty word to throw about? I don't think we'll ever know the truth, but I'm sure the man needed help.
There were a number of things about him that made me uneasy but I'm not into casting stones if you know what I mean.

I'm with Donkey on this one.He was obviously ill having been abused and taken advantage of buy his father and many of those around him.I wasn't a great fan of his music but I could appreciate his natural talent.
He may or may not of been guilty of child abuse either way I don't believe he was evil just niave and mentally unable to deal with his life.He was never found guilty and paying someone off doesn't prove guilt either. If we can't respect our western democracy/justice system then why do we invade other countries to force that upon them?
Does he deserve all the fuss after his death? Maybe not.Does he deserve all the abuse? Maybe not either.

R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

Maybe pedophile was too strong of a word to describe him. In my opinion the only thing different about this "creep" and those "creeps" that live behind bars was he had the influence and a big bank account to buy his way out of trouble.
Was he a great musician? Yes
Should he be glorified in death? No

Re: R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

I think what it demonstrates is what can happen with fame/money at an early age and how it effected his mental state.

He said he only ever felt happy when on stage.

I think this thread shouldn't go towards analysis of what did/did not/ might have happened.

If the allegations are true he is not forgiven just because he is dead, but, we may never know and this debate can go on forever.

I thought it best to post a few of my favourites of his. The last being the song that still holds the record for most weeks at no 1 (if I remember right) and is considered groundbreaking in that the music video was a story in itself and this inspired so many more artists in what they did with their music videos.

Re: R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

I agree with donkey and craigalee.

I think that he was a very talented guy who became mentally corrupted by his upbringing and success as an adult. This is very sad. Whether or not he molested a child, he had conducted very inappropriate relationships with them. He never actually grew up either, when it comes to the bit. Life on the road, hounded by a heavy-handed father, can't have been a fun childhood, and having to withdraw from the world because of success later in life is very unhealthy. Being deprived of normal relationships and freedom twists the mind. His couldn't handle it. He spent his way down the plughole, no doubt hoping posessions could fill the gaps in his life. I suppose he hoped being surrounded by children would do the same.

There are lots and lots of people in the world who have mental health issues of varying degrees, but unless they are a danger to themselves or others, they go entirely untreated for their whole lives. You don't have to be crazy to have a clinical problem.

Then you end up with a 'trainwreck' of a life. And its just such a pity. All the guy needed was some fun, love and 'normality' in both child and adulthood.

Re: R.I.P. Little one gloved wonder

I have no love for him or his music.

You can make all the excuses for him you like, any growen man who "shares a bed with children" is asking for trouble!!!

I dont think anyone who has died has had as many jokes made about them, ever!!!

In America millions of people are desreate to know how and why he died, in England thousands of people are desperate to know how and were they can get a refund.......

......one of the few non "bigot" jokes, the other 30 odd I receved on my phone would realy upset his fans. Were there is smoke human nature will always asume there is a fire......

While I know where you are coming from with the 'bigot' remark I do consider that as throwing stones, 2 wrongs don't make a right and all that.

On MJ, I do think he's upbringing played a major factor in his behaviour in adult life but it can't be a excuse. It is fact he abused kids (home alone kid admitted he was abused) and having seen the effects that child abuse has on peoples lifes for all their lifes personnally I would be slow to celebrate the life of MJ.

Not to defend him, but Macaulay Culkin said at the trial that he was never abused by Jackson.
