Gomes is a far better keeper than Cudicini, people only focus on the howlers and there haven't been many of them in 2009. He would have saved Gigg's free-kick on Saturday given his arms are about a foot longer than Cudicini's!!

Last weekens showed why City and Spurs aren't likely to break into the top 4 this season.

Neither are strong enough defensively and neither have the depth of squad that the established top 4 teams have.

City had to play Tevez who wasn't up to 90 minutes, and had very little on the bench.

Spurs now have their own hospital wing for centre backs, but their fixtures for the coming month aren't particularly difficult so they might get away with it short term.
