Re: 2009 ashes
We were keeping quiet until England had actually won the Ashes but now you`ve brought it up I predict an England collapse as usual.

It's been very unlike the 2005 series where 2 very good sides battled for every inch. Every so often in this current series one or other team just completely fails to turn up for a session or 2 which has decided matches.
This last test and the series is very much England's to lose now, but they're extremely capable of doing just that.

Re: 2009 ashes
Struth mate we did it! The Aussies surrendered the Ashes to a pretty average England team, thanks to a South African!

Re: 2009 ashes
Despite the number of runs required it was pretty nervy stuff at times, and in the end it was 2 sharp bits of fielding to remove Ponting and Clark that eased the way.
Tight series in different ways to 2005, reflecting the 2 teams world ratings now being 4 & 5 rather than 1 & 2 four years ago.
Will be intersting to see where England go from here.
Broad has the potential to become a true word class all-rounder, and if he stays fit I predict he'll turn carrer figures significantly better than Flintoff. He's not far behind now and is still a young man learning his trade.
Prior has improved no end as a keeper since the winter Windies series.
Swann balances the team as Giles did but isn't an out and out match winner.
Trott might fill the hole at 3, bit soon to tell after 1 test but appears to have the temperament.
Can't see Harmison going on without his mate either, so England are probably short by one 'strike' bowler and at least one batsman.
