College Football

The season is about ready to start, who do you guys or girls root for? My family are huge Notre Dame fans, we have been season ticket holders for over forty years.

Re: …

Did you see that Carroll anounced that their stud Freshmen Barkley will be the starter this season. I bet Tressel and company are grinning ear to ear knowing that they get to face a true frosh QB. It will be interesting if your defensive backfield is up to the task of covering USC's wideouts.

Cautiously optimistic.

Barkley is good, but lets see how he does with 107,000 people screaming at him.

I am more worried about the USC defense versus the new offensive line.

Re: …

Its pretty rare for a true freshmen QB to succeed due to the change of the pace of the game ect. I know quite a few people who work within the college football world and the consensus is that Pete Carroll knows that Barkley is a future superstar and that they will take their lumps this year setting them up for a run in 2010 and 2011.

Re: College Football

I'm already tired of hearing how great Notre Dame is. They need to prove something on the field first.

Re: College Football

Howie, I have no problem with that sentiment. Most ND fans are getting restless, its put up or shut up time for Weis. If he drops a turd this year he is gone. If the administration could have gotten a high profile coach last year he would have been gone.

Re: College Football

ND fans should be really restless now. Maybe now we won't have to hear about them the rest of the year.

It was a great game, too bad Weis forgot clock managment. Congrats on the win.
