I presume so, were all human and make mistakes. Id imagine we may have to DNA the calf for them.

From the dealings that I have had with them, over any query whatsoever, I don't think they could consider that we farmers are only human & can sometimes make mistakes. We are presumed to have been attempting fraud and have been caught out by their incredibly efficient system. It has taken years for them to accept that you can register a calf late, with DNA testing. We had one a day overdue that they just refused point blank, and would only give us a "licence" to keep her & breed from her, with a dsiposal cost at the end of her life. Apparently, almost anywhere else in the EU, you get a "slap wrist" letter and a passport issued.
Great belated Christmas present to have anyway. Good luck with the brick wall at BCMS, let us know how you get on.
Of course the unscrupulous might have the animal die, and a new one born a bit later.......but then I'm sure you wouldn't do that.
