Crazy conversations

Here are some snipits from recent conversations I have had. Some are really good for debate.

From a rival studs rep: Champion is the best 1st crop bull out there. Everywhere I go I am impressed by his daughters.

From another studs rep on a competitors bull: Durham is overrated. He is very inconsistent. His daughters are also very mean (that of coarse is right on).

Other Observations from AI reps.
Canyon Breeze Allen, who dropped the ball on that one?

Stormatic is definately a refiner bull.

One rep had seen a few milking Titanics, was not a fan. Not enough power, questionable fore udders.

Red Marker makes so many "Turds" that he should get the consession on Janitorial services at any show.

On Astronomical, nice calves, heifers, and springers, hope those people that did all the flushing to him aren't disappointed.

Also the bonus question I have asked recently: Ashlyn or Adeen? Evenly split opinion, Ashlyn is proving to be a brood cow, Adeen never got the chance.

Whether its type or index the bottom line is that all must milk.

Never seen Ashlyn in the flesh, but think she is the better cow. Adeen had a bit too much timber in her.

Re: Crazy conversations

smous, you are right on Adeen was more of a rugged cow. However I think she had better feet and legs, just my opinion, and we know about opinions.

Maybe its just coinsidance, but I have heard or seen, all the same, and would have to agree with all of your bull quotes. As for the two cows, I'm not picky, would take either one.

Re: Crazy conversations

I agree that the Durham's can be idiots, but they are really good cows. We are milking nine of them and 7 are scored. They are all anywhere from 85 to 88 on their first score and the two that aren't scored should easily go VG when we score. He is making outstanding cows if used correctly. He obviously needs to be protected for strength, but he can make some really good ones. That is just my opinion.

Re: Crazy conversations

For a semen rep to run down another companies bull shows a lack of class and I wouldn't buy from that man. We didn't get to use Durham over here in Ireland so we used Dante instead, what pillocks they turned out to be!!!

Re: Crazy conversations

I can always see through the crap, this guy truely believes in the commercial cow, and Durham does not fit his model. I ask alot of questions sometimes you get the answer you were looking for sometimes you don't.

Re: Crazy conversations

I think Champion may be the best up and coming bull of the breed and I for one am excited about him. As for Durham I couldn't disagree more with what was said as I feel Durham is one of the most if not the most consistant bull out there right now. Durham stamps a pattern and a good one. As for Adeen being too thick or too woody, look at Ashlyn's two year old picture she too carried a little extra flesh.

Re: Crazy conversations

Our local Semex rep, who I have never previously in my life (and I have known the guy a long time) heard complement a rivals bull, has said that both Durham and Champion impress him. Durham is not of course much of a rival any more!

On Champion, I am really impressed with my oldest calves which are both yearling bulls. The heifers not so. First of all there was an eight month delay in getting one (!) and when they did come, they are a bit narrow and frail. The jury is out.

Re: Crazy conversations

I dont know y!!!
But here in Italy we did not get any Durham or BW Marshall, now we can't have Morty anymore, We did not get Emory, Mandel...

What is going on? I believe that all Good Bull have some diseases !!!

Yeah "Political Diseases" !

We are used Dante and in the US they used Durham, we got Empire they got Derry, we get Forbidden they got Eland.

Is USA selling away just 2nd choice bulls?
Saving 1st choice for their own???

Re: Crazy conversations

I personally don't think you're missing much by not being able to use Eland. As far as the bulls that you aren't able to get, I don't imagine that is much of the USA's fault. I would guess that it has more to do with the regulations put on by various countries. Some bulls that you guys get in other countries are a result of frozen embryos that have been sold. For example, some Storm embryos were sold from Ernlo Cinderella that resulted in the Startit bull. It is a shame that you guys can't get Durham, as I feel he is definitely the real deal.

Re: Crazy conversations

Ok probably we do not miss taht much by not usying Eland, but what about Morty?

When they realized it is a really good bull, he turned sick!!!

Various contries make their regulations, US turns bull sick to take vantages from those health regulations!!!

Is Morty even in the US? He is a semex bull. I would guess that he is in Canada. Not sure why you think the US would want to make it so that semen couldn't be exported from some of these bulls.

Re: Crazy conversations

Ok he is a Semex Bull, proved in US.

He was healthy than he turned sick, that's what I am talking about.

US and CA use to keep their best bulls!!!

Durham, BW Marshall and Morty.

Re: Crazy conversations

I don't understand your logic. The US and Canada would make money if the semen could be exported. Why wouldn't they want to be able to export it? They certainly don't make other countries regulations. They have no control over that.

I guess it really doesn't matter that much to me, as I am able to use them as much as I would like.
