My most special cow was Rainyridge Tony Beauty winning Madison at 14 years of age.
I thought it incredible when she won at 11 years but then to win again was probably a moment never to be repeated ever again.

Having not been around that long and not seeing many expo's I would have to say the best I have ever seen would be Triday Ashlyn.

Re: What is the best show-cow you ever saw?

Having only been to shows in Ireland, England and the European Holstein show, I will have to go with Weisenfield Raider Maryam the European Holstein Show winner in 2000, quite simply superb!! From an Irish point of view the best cow I have seen here is Moralta Inspiration Fame, classified EX97 says it all I think!!

Work in Dairy Research. Still involved in home farm, Inishowen Holsteins and Knock Texels!! Herd average 7, 500kg on grass based diet, av. classification running around 82 - 83 pts. Need a good Texel ram, talk to me!!!!!!!

At the Harrisburg, PA Farm Show some years back, I saw Shadowcliff RA Gina EX 97, and thought she was the greatest cow I had ever seen, both in the ring and in the barn. I've seen some good show winners since then, but to me Gina still stands out.

I have to go with Chairity, but a big runner up would be Continental Scarlette Red, because I have a soft spot for red, and because she was I believe the only cow that ever beat Chairity.

I was at Toronto in '93 when Beauty won and for me she is the best cow I have ever seen.

Both Sterling Silver and also Medway Supreme Maude are also cows that really impressed me.

Does anyone know if Bondvale Broker Natasha is still around.I'm sure she was owned by Alistair Laird.
I'm not saying she is the best cow i've ever seen but i think that her and Maude and without doubt the best show cows to come to the uk. :sa

Re: What is the best show-cow you ever saw?

Saragossa Jane was the best local cow I have ever seen. A previous National Champion, she is the current Reserve, I stand under correction but I think she is at least ten years old. A My Kinda Selector out of a Iona Farm Camaro - medium stature, massive capacity, but all silk, with a yeah long neck and an awesome udder.

I have only watched the Holstein judging at WDE once, it was the year Sterling Silver won. We were awed by Blackrose but she couldn't walk. My personal favourite was Maple Flat Ares Rosie who got High Honorable Mention. Watched the whole thing from start to finish, actually nodded off a couple of times I'm afraid to say.

Two of my all time favourite pictured cows are Roxy (no brainer) and Kanza Matt Tippy (I used to love em tall and sharp and wringing wet!)

Re: What is the best show-cow you ever saw?

No contest in the ring,,it has to be Charity,,I watched her win the mature cow class at Madison in a canter against the next 5 cows who were all scored 94 points or better,,,in the barn at home however its always going to be Sherry for me,,just a great cow every day of the year,,,over here I have to go for Broker Natasha,,,
