Re: Congratulations Irland.

Mark

I will get you the results tomorrow as I left the Show Catalogue at home today!!! Yes, Melissa Grand (the Spanish cow) won it for us, in fact we had an unbelievable day taking 3 firsts, 3 seconds and 4 thirds with the 10 cows we had on the team, not to mention winning the group. It just couldn't have went any better for us.

Re: Congratulations Irland.

Boyds is a smashing cow, but there just isn't enough cow there for her to challenge the big timers. She is very correct with a beautiful udder, she just needs to be 3 - 4 inches taller to really compete. She deserved 3rd place all the same.

Re: Congratulations Irland.

I know one irishman who went on the trip to Brussels, then sneaked off to Paris to watch the rugby. Ireland lost the rugby, but won the cattle show. I wonder if he made the right choice ? :uo

Re: Congratulations Irland.

Noticed that the most of these cattle listed were sired by Canadian sires.

Nearly all the cattle at Agribex where sired by Canadian bulls.
Would that be a surprise to anyone ?

Re: Congratulations Irland.

I agree with broa, Premier Sire would have been either Storm or Lee. Just not sure which. We had an unbelievable day for a small country, it just shows how passionate about breeding the irish people are and I am just glad i was there to witness it!!

Re: Congratulations Irland.

I would say Storm for premier, just look at Vixan, with slightly stronger pasterns she'd be every breeders "wet" dream. emoticon
but I agree it was very close between Lee and Storm.

Re: Congratulations Irland.

Vixan is a beauty isn't she. First time I have seen her was at Agribex, she was Reserve at our national to the Grand, a worthy reserve from what I hear. Yep stronger pasterns and a little lift of the rear udder about 1.5 inches and she may have stayed in the ring a little longer on saturday!!
