Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

Strengh bull, big time, full sister has the most impressive picture, I've ever seen. Just a massive beast. I do not beleive his G.P and better will end up that high, but hopefully it will. Am useing on some of my Rubens, to add strengh, width, and power, also like his %'s, and the fact he is a small (low) for pin set.Not sure he fits the show type bull, at least I have not heard of any. Have been VERY, VERY, furustrated with this bulls conception rate, think I just might give up with him because of it.

Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

A Semex rep I know, not our rep, told me he wouldn't sell Allen to anyone because he had been told the bull had terrible conception rates. Sounds like you have found out the hard way! I do like the family behind this bull though, lots of strength, just what the Holstein world is crying out for!!

Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

Not exactly sure how the scores work, but the fertility rating for Allen on the Semex website is 66, same score as the recently deceased Comestar Lee.

The scores seem to range from 64 to 72, with average around 68. So I would guess he is slightly below average, but not disatrous.

Don't know who calculates the figures, or how. His score does have a 99% reliability.

Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

Alan this is for you, after talking to 4 classifiers, asked them all to pick their 3 favorate bulls in order. Only one of them had scored more than a few Allens. Hope you can follow Gibson 3 said # 1, 1 at #3, Linjet one said # 1, 1 at 3#, All 4 picked Outside at # 2, one liked James at #3, One liked Allen at #3, all 4 of them pretty much liked Leduc in 4th spot. This may not mean much, but these guys do see hundreds, of daughters of these bulls, so it is interesting at least. Oh yeah and for their least favorate, all 4 said Inquirer.

Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

His EX 94 full sister is an absolute moose. One of the largest cows I have ever seen. The people at Sunshine Genetics will tell you she is the largest cow they have ever had there, and they have had some big ones over the years. The daughter photos are very unimpressive, but I hope he turns out to be the real deal as he could be a true size and capacity bull with a different pedigree from the normal bulls one would use to put large frames on.

Re: CANYON-BREEZE ALLEN

We have some calves by Allen they are small stong and pretty correct; I would use one word to describe this bull (average).
