aAa UK

Hi there

I am planning to go England/Scotland/Wales at the end of August. Wanted to go earlier but with all the floodings decided too wait a bit longer.

People who want to know more about aAa can send me a PM with their adress. I have some new information folders I can send them.

Maybe if you told me what you were talking about,
I would be able to tell if I needed 'more info'

Re: aAa UK

Hi JB.

aAa is a breeding guide that helps in making more correct matings. I explained already a lot on this forum. I guess you can find that.

What we do is not new, it is used already for more than 55 years. F.E. Osbournedale Ivanhoe and Paclamar Astronaut are bred by their breeders who used aAa.

Re: aAa UK

As we all are I am waiting how this new F&M outbreak will lead us to.

I made reservations already for the ferry and a B&B. Because it is in 4 weeks I will give it some time.
When there is F&M in the UK or like last time also later on here in Holland the trip must be cancelled.

I really wish this will stop quickly.

Re: aAa UK

I am very happy the F&M outbreak has run dead.

Therefore I decided to start the UK trip next wednesday august 29.

When people are interested to have their cows aAa analysed then let me know.

mverboom@aAa123456.com.

aAa is:

. independent and unbiased

. stable and reliable,aAa is still after 57 years unchanged. Analysers are trained and tested each month.

. Affordable, only 4 pounds per animal once in her life, that's it!!

. Working with knowledge of interrelationships of bodyparts aAa points out the cause of the problem instead of just adressing the problem itself.

. results in more usable cows you can sell to others.

Re: aAa UK

Happy to have some new customers in England and Scotland. I am very surprised that 95% of the dairyfarmers I called in the UK know nothing about aAa.

I had most of the times these kind of phonecalls:

Me: Are you familiar with aAa.
Farmer: no wat is it?
Me: It will give you more above avarage daughters off the bulls that you are using.
Farmer: My sementank is full already
Me: I do not sell semen. I only analyse cows.
Farmer: What are the costs
Me: 4 pounds once in her lifetime.
Farmer: I can not afford that with 25 pence per liter.
Me: What bulls are you using?
Farmer: Shottle, Talent.
Me: costs 25/30 pounds per straw
Farmer: yes
Me: So you spend with 2 straws a year between 50 and 60 pounds per cow that is on avarage 200-250 pounds in her lifetime?
Farmer: uhh yes.
Me: You still think 4 pounds is expensive?
Farmer: no, but I have them classified already.
Me: Okay, than you know wich cow your classifier likes the most. What impact does it have on your breedingpolicy?
Farmer: Not a lot.
Me: aAa can tell you why she has (for example) bad feet and legs.
Farmers: that is interesting
Me: the only information you need is with what kind of bull can she bring offspring better than herself.

etc

etc

Re: aAa UK

The next aAa/Weeks Analysis trip in the UK is planned from Okt 12 till Okt 20.

Again there are some new herds scheduled already. For people who are interested I have some information I can send. You only need to PM me. Or vistit the website www.aAa123456.com.
In Craigalea's tribute you can find a link to the main aAa topic.

On this website their is a section called My aAa Manager. When the cows are analysed this is a easy to use and FREE management tool to make the best matings with the bulls you are using.

What do we do different then others?

1 We visit the bullstuds to analyse the bulls.
2 aAa finds the cause of the problem. You do not need anayone to tell that she has bad F&L. What important is: What is the reason.
3 We do not sell semen, we are independant.

Remember, when you are behind the cow to inseminate her then in fact you are standing there with the bull. And what she needs has to com from the bull (and visa versa).
IT DOES NOT COME FROM PAPER.

It is importand to have the basics (a cow and a bull) done as best as possible.

Re: aAa UK

Last wednesday the results of the mikrecording were published.

A longtime, about 12 years, aAa user named Marty Hoogeveen in Vledderveen (netherlands) had the highest avarage production.

At an avarage age by calving of 5,04 years his cows did on avarage:

305 days 13 462 kg 3,93 Fat 3,50 Protein.

resulting in 528 kg fat and 471 kg protein production in 305 days.

Also the highest avarage classification is probably for a other long time aAa user and supporter John de Vries from Boijl. In his 50 cow herd he had 17 first calvers classified with an avarage of VG 87,2. His total herd avarage is now VG 88,..

Not bad as you know that only 8-10 % (1500 in total) of the dairyfarmers use aAa in the Netherlands.
