Progeny groups by top HG sires Support and Spencer-Red at CR Delta Cow-Expo

Visitors to the CR Delta Cow-Expo, which takes place on October 10 and 11, can expect an exciting and very informative event. Progeny by the new HG flagship bulls, Support and Spencer, will be parading through the showring at the KNHS equestrian centre in Wanroij. Top sires Paramount and Fabian, whose daughters impressed the crowds at last year’s All-Holland Dairy Show, will be showcasing second-lactation progeny groups.

The CR Delta Cow-Expo will go ahead
On Monday we had decided to cancel te event as, due to FMD in England, the Netherlands also had a total movement ban in place. Indications were that it could last for several weeks, like last time. To our surprise the ministery lifted the ban on Tuesday and we applied for a new licence which we got.

The bluetongue situation was another problem. We contacted all the farmers with cows selected for the progeny groups. Their reactions were very positive, which was an indication they wanted the event to go ahead. So if we don't get any other veterinary trouble the show will take place on the 10th (evening) and 11th of October at the equestrian centre in Wanroij.

One of the cows that can be seen in Wanroij is this one:

She is a first crop daughter of Lowlands Fabian
(the son of the reigning Dutch Red Holstein champion Flora).
Two weeks ago she classified VG89 as a three-year-old.
I saw her in the flesh in February. Tremendous cow.
Her dam is a VG85 Stadel.
After 130 days in milk she is projected to 10,213kg milk at 5.41% fat and 3.91% protein.
