NRM Show/Holland Masters Sale
I am organising a short 3 day break (Friday 27th - Sunday 29th June) to the Netherlands, which will incorporate Hollands infamous NRM show.
The trip itself provides a great opportunity to have a short break away in the company of Holstein enthusiasts from all over the world.
The NRM show attracts over 250 Holsteins, and regularly gets over 5500 visitors, many of them whom travel from overseas. There will be numerous exhibitions which will be of interest to the farming community, and it will be an excellent opportunity to explore innovative concepts within the dairy industry.
The NRM show is also host to the Holland Masters Sale, which will see a selection of the worlds finest pedigrees come under the hammer.
Daughters of Windy-Knoll View Pledge EX95, Comestar Lautamie Titanic VG89 2yo, Ralma Goldwyn Carmel VG88 2yo sell to name a few, and also the first live cattle from the UK to be sold in Europe, with consignments from the Holmland and Smiddiehill herds.
In addition to the NRM show and the Masters Sale, there will be a visit to the renowned Willemshoeve herd, and a night at Leisure in Amsterdam, where we are hoping as a group to dine out on one of the citys' canals.
It promises to be a great trip, lighthearted and enjoyable, with great company and COWS!
It's long enough to relax and enjoy yourself, but not too long to cause major disruption at home!
If you are interested in joining us either as an individual or as a group, the sooner we know the better, obviously the price of flights go up the nearer to the date we get.
Departures from Bristol, Liverpool, Belfast and Glasgow, Prices start from £255 per person, (includes flights, transport, hotels & entrance tickets for the NRM show)

Claire, is there any time left to visit farms that has worked with aAa for many years?
One of those farms in particular has I think the best Holsteins herd (as a group) in Holland I know another with an avarage produktion of 14 000 kg in 305 days.
Holland is not a big country you can see it all in one day!!!

Not really Marcel, the days are kind of taken up, with the show and the visits already arranged, and also a night in Amsterdam!

Friday and Saturday the 27th and 28th June are heydays for every Holstein Enthusiast, as Utrecht plays host to both the NRM (Dutch National Show) and also the Prestigous Holland Masters Sale,

The Holland Masters Sale takes place this Friday in Utrecht, a host of world renowned names sell.
An amazing 480,000 Euros (£380,000) worth of contracts
have been secured for bulls and embryos from animals
which are consigned to the sale. All of these can be

Contract Information
For the first time this Century, there are calves from
the UK which will be present and will sell at the
sale, including Holmland Elayo Rachel Red from Stephen
and Tricia Bells' Holmland herd, Rachel sells with
contracts for embryos and bulls to a value of 17,000
Euros.

Record Breaking European Sale
A Massive crowd of breeders from all over Europe were in attendance for the “Record breaking Holland Masters Sale”
Celebrating one of the greatest consignments of animals ever offered in mainland Europe, previous records were shattered as 33 animals sold for an average price of £8924 (€11,306) to buyers from 7 different countries.
Spirited bidding saw both of the top priced lots sell for £33,150 to the Wills Brothers for their UK based Willsbro herd, first to realise that figure was a Fortune daughter of Canada’s #1 LPI cow- Comestar Lautamie Titanic VG89 2yr, quickly followed by a very exclusive Mac calf from one of Americas best Picston Shottle daughters- Regancrest S Chassity VG88 2yr. Both heifers were sired by bulls unavailable in the UK, and sold with multiple contracts for embryos and bulls.
Next highest price was £24,500 for a daughter of Ralma Goldwyn Carmel VG88 2yr, and sired by Marshall Billion, from one of the hottest families in the world today, she stays in the Netherlands, having been purchased by J Brummelhuis.
Selling for £20,500 was a 1st Choice heifer calf from Calbrett Goldwyn Layla, a daughter of the renowned Million $ Cow- Lylehaven Lila Z VG89 2yr. Sired by Pronto this calf will join Willemshoeve Holsteins of the Netherlands
The sale was a truly International evening, with Canadian auctioneer Hendrik Mulder, English pedigree reader Mark Lee, and ringmen from no less than 5 different countries.
It was also the first time that calves from the UK had been presented at a sale in mainland Europe, Holmland Elayo Rachel Red, consigned by Stephen Bell was much admired and realised £7,100 whilst Indianhead Durham Extra, consigned by Smiddiehill Holsteins was sold for £6,100, both sold to King’s Court of the Netherlands. Commenting after the sale English pedigree reader Mark Lee said
"It was a great privilege to be part of this record breaking sale. This evening once again shows the demand for world class genetics, with cattle selling to many different countries throughout Europe for high prices. Tonights success highlights the opportunities that are available to breeders. and proves the value of investment in top class pedigrees in this ever increasing global market place."
