 HG presents daughters of Fortune at HHH-show (Press Release)
At the HHH show, which will be held in Zwolle on the 25th and 26th of November, HG is planning to show a daughter group by Apina Fortune. Fortune combines a plus for protein with very attractive type figures. As Fortune is currently in high demand, HG expects that his progeny group will attract a great deal of attention.
It is the first time that daughters of Fortune, a son of “King of Components” Woudhoeve Russel, will be paraded. Members of the HG breeding committee, dairy farmers Harco Naber and Corné van der Doelen, who inspected Fortune’s daughters, are extremely pleased with what they saw. Van der Doelen says: ‘We didn’t see any bottom end by this bull. Fortune breeds extreme uniformity; his daughters are tall and without exception have great legs and feet. This is a really strong feature of the bull. Besides displaying excellent locomotion, they have remarkably good feet and an ideal rump structure, with a good slope from hook to pin”.
As Fortune is currently enjoying tremendous popularity, expectations are that the presence of a progeny group by this Russel son will attract large numbers of visitors to the IJsselhallen Exhibition Centre.
Beautiful cows
Fortune is one of HG’s most popular bulls, which is no surprise seeing that his proof figures indicate that he is a bull for breeders who love beautiful cows (110 Total Score), but also want to keep an eye on the protein (+0.06% P). Fortune’s daughters are tall and framey cows that have a nice rib and an ideal rump structure, with a good slope from hook to pin. Their feet and legs are fantastic with very good locomotion and ideal set from both side and rear view, along with very good foot angle. With these scores, Fortune is one of the best bulls for feet and legs in the current HG line-up. From their good quality, shallow and healthy udders they produce milk with low somatic cell counts. In his production proof, Fortune shows a fair amount of milk with a plus for protein and an extreme fat to protein ratio. On top of this, Fortune daughters keep good condition on themselves during their lactation.

Via a VG87 daughter of Newhouse Ronald and a daughter of Celsius, Apina Fortune goes back to the famous Etazon Annecy, the Rotate Captain daughter of Plushanski Cleitus Farci VG87, who traces back to Plushanski Chief Faith EX94.
