Re: Roumare
Maybe there is some reason that they didn`t advertise the pedigree?

Re: Roumare
Why no milk?
He's Scandenavian (converted) proof shows him at
Milk 110 Fat 116 Prot 121 Production index = 123
Fertility 102
PL 107
Mastit 103
I would never expect him as a show bull, with Jocko as sire.

Re: Roumare
I was just on the Holstein Australia website and there are currently only 12 registered Roumares in Australia. Although i do know theres more out there, for one because we have some but they are not yet registered.
We have a roumare heifer and two bulls, born september 07 out of a VG88 Pen-col Decision. Her third dam was the very well know Etazon Annecy cow in Holland.
His daughters are already having an influence in AUS, with the top price at International Dairy Week being a roumare x VG88 Donor, selling for $43,000-AUS. Another roumare in the sale sold for $14,000. Overall the roumares (4) averaged $16,375-AUS. At the end of that sale i wished we had put our Roumare heifer in haha!
Personally i really think the bull will do alot. I like what i see and we'll have to wait and see if those udders are as good as there meant to be!!

Roumare
I think there is really high demand in France for the bull which is limiting exports. Cogent were due to get more semen in May but we really are not sure whether it will come or not.

Roumare
Has anyone seen any daughters in person? I am wondering what kind of cows he would work best on and what should he be protected for?

Today we calved a big bull calf by Roumare out of a heifer 2 well dressed cowtalkers were visiting and despite what they may say they were not needed to help---- it was a fairly easy calving Tomorrow we have another one to calve
Last year we sold many embryos by Roumare and have seen one resultant heifer calf several months ago She was real nice but then onthe same farm i saw 2 Shottle heifers out Embryos i sold out of same cow and they were better

Had 3 more calves from the same flush.
Like laste time 2 bull's and 1 heifer, big calves but alive.
The cow are contracted for a bull and there's interest for the 2nd. so happy they are alive.

Based on these 6 calves ONLY, I would say, be carefull. Wide front end.
