Donovan Sheik Gloriette

I`m just curious if there are many subbranches of this family in the Uk?
I realised a while ago that mootoyou has some offspring of Bonatus' full sister. Are you milking many of them? Any outstanding cows?
And I remember someone else that had Gloriettes. Who was it?

Maybe a first lactation Champion x Leader x Cleitus x Starbuck x Sheik will be at the German Holstein Show, but she is still very fresh and her rear udder looked a little bit deep when I saw her the last time (about 10 days ago when she still had some swelling in her udder).

Re: Donovan Sheik Gloriette

We had 2 lines of the Gloriette family, quite rightly we had a line off Bonatus' full sister, but also in a sale a number of years ago( Transworld sale at Crewe I think) we purchased an Aerostar Dtr named Glanzaerin, who was a dtr of Gondola.
She bred really well, particularly to Celsius, one of which sold for 17,000gns. That particular Celsius has since recently returned to the farm to go on a continuous flush program.
There are Gloriettes spread about all over the Uk now, mainly as a result of Hayleys, who owned and bred the majority of the UK Gloriette family.

I have one of the Celcius's here mootoyou, she was purchased at the Mileoak sale a few years ago. She left us a Shottle bull last year which was sold and is now safely in-calf to Goldwyn, she is looking well for a 7th calver. I really like this family.

It's always nice to hear that an animal has gone on to do well for someone else. . . . It's the best advert you can get!

Re: Donovan Sheik Gloriette

Sorry I cant remember but does Mr Swale pose on this? We bought an Addison x Lord Lily x Celsius Gloriette a few years ago at the HUKI Sale. One of the best cows weve ever bought. Cant remember but last couple of lactations have been around 11 at 3.6 ish protein and as far as 4.85 fat. VG89 but still looks soo young and done her 50 tonne. Always gets in-calf first service and in-calf at present to Shottle. Tried flushing to Shottle but only had unfertilised eggs. Have a daughter by a Capri son and sold a Champion bull. Such a bully-first in from the field, first into the parlour and first back out to the field again. (Sorry for such a long post).

Re: Donovan Sheik Gloriette

Just bought a rampage springer X 88pt Linjet X Gondola. There was a guy from michigan who put a couple of heifers out of this family in our local county promotional sale. Not really excited about rampage, but this heifer looks good underneath and she has an excellent frame and feet and legs. Plus, we bought her at commercial price. We had no clue that she had this kind of pedigree till we talked to the consignor after the sale. Hopefully, she turns out well.

I already answered in your "loud and proud" thread. Wish you all the best with your heifer!
Is this Linjet directly out of Gondola or out of Broker Goldika?
