Cogent Loader

Looks to be a fairly useful bull if his proof holds

Re: Cogent Loader

I have one milking, black, dairy, good legs and feet, plenty of milk, nice udder, but just big enough though she will grow as she is young enough as well.

Re: Cogent Loader

Rumps .. same as Morty's bit narrow and touch high in the pins. Had 1 calved fine looked tremendous ... came out of the parlour and failed the greasy concrete test.. dead.

That's where the worry is with that sort of rump, it's a potential killer. Yet this bull has a provisional type proof of over 3. Putting 70% of the type proof on Mammary and F&L just doesn't leave enough points to properly account for serious problems elsewhere.

Cogent Loader

the proof has too many holes for me
high pins & straight legs are a bad combination with narrow rump also poor components

Two milking now........what price is he Errolston???

Realy like them, very wet, pins not that bad, could be wider. Second one is bigger/better grown.

Re: Cogent Loader

Those of you that were founder members when Cogent started must be bouncing mad over this bull. In the past all of you would have had semen on the farm from the bull by now at a considerably reduced price, instead you are all being made to wait like the rest of the dairy farmers for the bull and the best discounnt or cheapest you'll get it at is £10 but only on a lesser amount. Not exactly what the company started out to be (quality bulls at a low price), have some of you left this company forever ?

If its 72 or 92 and dont milk it gets the beef bull

Re: Cogent Loader

If I buy 10 straws of test semen I can get 10 straws any proven bull out of Cogent for £10 so I can only get Loader at £10 if I have used or ordered a simliar amount of test and have not used the discount on another bull. I would have to pay full price if I didnt have any test credits left.
