Had a heifer calve in about a month ago with the following pedigree:

Billion (BW Marshall X Duster X Oscar) X Denby (BW Marshall X Patron X Melwood) X Bell Boss.

There was enough Bell in that pedigree to make my head spin.

I use the past tense because the heifer died a few days after freshening. Wasn't surprised.

She did manage to leave me a daughter to keep that line going. Thankfully, it's a half Jersey daughter. I may have to do four or five generations of non-Holstein blood on this family. Inbred isn't the end of the world, but inbred with BW Marshall sons is about as bad as I could imagine emoticon

You should gain maximum hybrid vigour from her. Even thought its a lot of bell a three way cross would still be fine

Either way, it may be an interesting family to experiment with. If mother would have survived, I probably wouldn't have ever used Holstein on her. I'd feel pretty safe coming back to Holstein after a generation of Swedish Red so long as BW Marshall isn't involved.

I currently have a Damion x Damion in the calf pens but will have a bigger "oops" coming in Febuary.
I have a Miami-Red Heifer that a Genex technician serviced to the last remaining unit of Miami-Red sexed semen I had at my heifer grower. Apparently they didn't bother to check the DHIA ear tag before they bred her.

what does the damion X damion look like? It seems like you could get lucky with a mating like that and possibly make a real nice heifer.

Wow, that one might take the cake. Damion is already inbred/ linebred then put him together, if the Dellia influence comes through you'll get a good one and the craziest dam cow in captivity

sorry I missed typed it was a Damion x Dundee. But pretty close to Damion/Damion, the calf looks good so far. No extra legs or tail as far as I can see.
