Advent x Storm x Gillette Blackstar Christianne
Hello cowtalk members,
i was just interested in what people around the world think a red advent heifer x an EX Storm x Gillette Blackstar Christianne VG88 (miracle cow) would be worth??? Obviously a world class cow family!!
Possibly canadian breeders would have a better understanding of the cow family! so what do you guys think an advent would be worth!

Funny, when I read the original post, I had the same price in my head as well. I figured 8-12,000. What would effect the price is uniqueness of having a red Advent from that pedigree. Are there others?
Here is some info on the Christiane cow.

That Christiane cow is backed by an excellent "fury" daughter, then backed by a VG CHEESEBORO ROBIN DEAN daughter.
So yeah, 8-12k, being that reds are commanding more at some sales, of course depending on pedigree. But then again, i've seen some with a good pedigree go for less than 8. Depends how good she is..

But the calf is not true red ?! is it? I don´t think that Christiane is RC.

Sorry guys i am on holidays on the AUS coast at the moment and have just found a computer to check cowtalk!! Yes the heifer is actually red herself, not sure how but the advent must be strong in her! Not buying or selling really, just know of such a heifer and i think the owners want to know how much she is worth!! I am gonna agree and say between $8-12k! Thanks guys for all your input, any more interest in this post??

Sorry cowsrus, but this heifer can`t be true red, because there seems to be no red or rc in the pedigree. Thus it has to be black-red via Storm. It will probably darken with age..

Well this is an interesting topic now, i understand what you are saying but the heifer is actually registered as a red heifer?!?! From what i have been told she is red, and that she wont be turning red black!! If you use a red sire over a red-black dam, does that not mean you can get a red heifer??
For another example, at home we have a Durham that is a black holstein from the Blackrose family. She was joined to Litchblick (a red sire) and now we have a red daughter from this mating. I can garantee you that she is red and will not turn red black, no way could she! She is red! Anyway her dam is a durham x gold juror x storm-RB and the clalf is red! Therefore would it not be possible to have a red advent x storm-RB??

No, you can not get a true red calf, if you mate a red bull to a black-red cow.
