What would you pay for embryos using a sexed bull?
I was wondering what people would pay for embryos using sexed semen from good bulls. Assume I had a heifer that was a grand daughter of a cow like Tobi, Alicia, Tomara, or Redrose. This heifer is out of good sires and has high type and looks good. What are you willing to pay for embryos from sexed semen of good bulls?

Depends on the bull. Its never going to be one of the best as they sell anyway - why would the AI companies waste half the semen? So the bull is going to have some faults with - low production, poor type etc

I think with sexed semen from bulls like Dundee and Roy from ABS, and like Final, Blitz, Jackson, Glen, Ross and Master from Select Sires there are sexed semen bulls worth using. I will pay double and waste half the semen to get heifers all day long and I think they would to because they can't sell semen to breed bull calves. So it is in there best interest for you to have more heifers to breed.

I will also pay twice the price , when I implant 5 embryos and I end up with 3 pregs and one female , I am happy , especially if you have the opportunity to sale bulls from that purchase , so imagine with sexed semen, you will be close to have at lest 2-3 females from that purchase , it worth to pay twice the price I think. I am agree that you need a good bull , because 3 females from a old fashion bulls is not the best also...

If you purchase an embryo from a mating of say shottles or goldwyns parents how likely are you to get a bull who is just as good as they are?
Do you think there are a lot of full brothers to these bulls around? How easy or difficult is it to purchase an embryo from these matings?
Also how available are these matings to purchase and what kind of price?

I was just looking at the Sale of Stars catalog online and was thinking that maybe sexed embryos out of heifers like lots 18,20 or 41. Bulls like Dundee or Roy and there adding more bulls more often now. What would you pay for a Dundee or Finest embryo out of lot 20?
