Sicy Knowledge
Just wondered if anyone has seen any of his daughters, there seems to be a buzz about him I haven't seen for a while in a new and emerging bull. He is a Freelance X James, and I think he is currently running at about 68% GP or Better.
He has respectable milk figures (+1111kgsM) and positive for Fat (+0.32%F)and protein (+0.04%P).
HIs type breakdown is appealing, maybe a little too much set to the legs and caution over heel depth, but it's a long time since I have seen as many nice pictures of 2yr olds from his test period as this bull has.
Wondered if anyone over the pond has had the opportunity to see them first hand.

Re: Sicy Knowledge
UK converted PLI £151 which is twice parent average and weak maternal line? But nice daughter pics on Semex Canada.

Ligament -1 puts me off a bit and marginal on cellcount.

93 for longevity scares the **** out of me.
I am happy for other people to be the guinea pigs on this one!

Heard today he is going to make a big jump in August proofs. Probably will make a big jump on price also. Not a fan of his pedigree. Freelance X James doesn't exactly spell longevity to me.

Sicy Knowledge
Heard of some who were flushing to him him. I'd agree with most that at first glance he doesn't excite me too much but who knows it may be something a little different that makes him appealing.

Agree with you ,
We are not doing any good for our breed when we release bull at 93 for longevity ...

Re: Sicy Knowledge
93 for longevity based on what, though? Earliest test daughters haven't finished their first lactation yet.

Big Bird ,
What`s your expectation on a bull like that for longevity ? Any ideas ?
What if we all wait he adds more daughters infos and he go up by chance to 100 for longevity , Does it will make him more attractive ?

Guess my source was wrong. Not only did he not make a big jump but he dropped 55 TPI points.

Nothing ...
Poor productive life , poor daughter fertility , poor ligament , poor heel depth . Nothing to help the futur of our holstein breed don`t you think so ?
