Here are some excerpts from the newcoming Blackmore's Night album.

Re: The Secret Voyage

Thanks!

More of the same then, like with almost any band. I must say 'formula' though. There's the harder rockin opening song with Strat licks, and we're off.

The album sounds okay I suppose. Haven't expected too much after Village Lanterne and I suppose this is Village Lanterne pt.2. At least it sounds like it.

A bit of punning drinking humour in the opening track.

Can't Help Falling in Love is quite a shocker... They should have asked the UB40 guy to join in for the chorus!

The only track I didn't care for at all was Toast to Tomorrow. I just utterly dislike that type of music. It's called 'humppa' here in Finland and even if non-Finns won't understand the word they'll get the point.

Rainbow Eyes is very nice, but what's with the percussion again?

Overall, I know I'll buy the album, listen to it three times and shelf it.

Same for me emoticon

Maybe we could buy it in co-sharing. Each time you feel like listening to it, mail me and I'll send it to Finland. Then six months later, back to Belgium... emoticon

Worth thinking about... Of course, you can't trust the post these days so the CD should be delivered personally! emoticon

Definitely. And around a good local beer...

Back to topic: BN seems to become a Rainbow cover band. That's certainly something positive, except that I would prefer Ritchie to make a Rainbow unplugged album.

Rainbow Eyes is one of my all time favourite songs, never mind a Rainbow favourite.

Here it's butchered! Disgraceful! WTF with all the percussion - is it Cozy's ghost?

Give us something new Richie.. emoticon

The same old guitar solo and the same old song.
This is one album I will not buy. Sad but true. I simply refuse.

this sounds bloody awful! I quite like Blackmores Night but this album sounds like a group of rehashed drivel so boring and predictable and absolutely pointless emoticon

Listening to it: Carole Stevens killed Blackmore some years ago. His body lies down in her cellar. She has replaced him with a computer-animated automat which generates a kind of music her daughter can sing along with.

Candice, you should really launch your own career.
