Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
Obviously someone is quite upset with the forthcoming book release. I received this email tonight basically accusing me of claiming to be Doc Calvinson (or better known as Jarett Isralow) clearly documented on Google and sent to me by someone who has an email address under the name Doc Calvinson.

So there you have it.
This is the email I received tonight from Coral.
There is only 1 doc calvinson...

Imitation can be a sincere form of flattery_but not when someone uses your name for their own gains.
There is only one doc calvinson and he wrote the next stage listed on the blackmoresnight.com website. He has not written any other books so beware of impostors using his name . Just released in germany orkus, zilo, and sonic seducer have july.
August issues with interviews from candice and ritchie. And coming out june 26 a great interview with candice night for the magazine. Body and mind in germany
Blackmore Productions, c/o Carole Stevens, P.O. Box 735, Nesconset, NY 11767-0735, USA
I am very confused as this is the announcement that was posted and I have never claimed to use the name Doc Calvinson. For that matter why would I use her sons alias?
Shadows of the Moon (Book News)
Shadows of the Moon is the official “unauthorized” Blackmore’s Night biography. Unlike The Next Stage (the bands family written book), Shadows will explore the complete history of the band from the ending of Rainbow to present day. This book looks at the good, the bad, and the ugly, strips away the fairytale, and gives the reader a front row seat at what has taken place behind the veil of secrecy.
To make things even more exciting, a close friend (and a household name author) has asked to re-write a chapter titled “Master of Puppets” and has made it into a short suspense story. I have personally read the draft and can attest that everyone, fan or not, you are in for a treat.
For a small donation of your choice, a limited eco friendly volume will be available in a very small quantity later this fall provided through a charity organization followed by the official hardcover extended release shortly thereafter.
What has been called “The best book on what not to do in a band” and “A true Spinal Tap moment in music history” has also been noted to be “ The Hammer of the Gods for this generation!” Shadows is guaranteed to open your eyes to a world unveiled and written in the stars.
For press inquiries, please contact blacknight_productions@live.com
I simply said “Unlike The Next Stage”. So what the hell is she even applying? Furthermore, this is what she posted after banning us.
announced may 9- "
We will no longer produce Black Night Fanzine due to "Management. from the editor of Black Night Fanzine - Jim Kearney-"
Please be aware Blackmore's Night has for several months now removed ALL affiliation with this magazine,
although we tried to assist with interviews in 2007- it became apparent in 2008 that we needed to distance ourselves from this fanzine- we do NOT authorize or provide any articles or information, interviews, or personal comments -as our fans and Blackmore's Night family- we want you to be wary of those who claim to represent us. www.blackmoresnight.com is the official source for news of the band.
Please note: in her email blast, “due to management” was changed to just “management” making it look like an internal problem. For that, I now will include a chapter in the book that was excluded due to content. The names will be changed just like Doc and coral did to protect the INCOMPETENT.
Sigh……………….
This woman has caused me enough stress.
Readers of this forum, I have to stop before I blow a gasket. I assure you, that soon this is going to come out and once it does, regardless of what your perception of the light might be, I assure you, it will change.

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
The "there's only one Doc Calvinson" post was sent to everybody on the BN list as I received it, too.
The only logical way to counter that "there's only one" argument is something along the lines of "...and for that the world of literature is rather grateful for".
In any case, it's getting pathetic. I mean, can they look more insecure and unprofessional than this? I suppose we can only wait and see!

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
Remember that comedy series 'Bewitched' in the 70.
Perhaps she's that cackling old mother of Samantha's, who is like Candi.
Mind you, Blackers doesn't remind me of Darren one bit.

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
Well this is starting to get a bit silly! But this is what happens when someone enters management from another profession, later in life, with no music industry knowledge or experience. As a manager of an artist (especially one of Blackmore's status), the roll of a manager must be taken on a level that is all business. Just like any business, personal feelings must be separated. After all that is the first thing any successful person in business learns. Well, it is obvious that she can not do this and at times with her responses, seems childish. We do not know what her agreement with Ritchie entails, but it is clear that Ritchie wants to live his life and have someone handle the business end of his career for him. It makes sense, most artists want it this way. So her job is to represent Ritchie's best interest. Am I right? Of course I am, that is why Ritchie hired her, and fired his last management company as they were not doing this!
But here is where it gets a little tricky, Ritchie's best interest is not in her daughter's best interest. So that is why she always seems to get annoyed at any Rainbow / Purple reunions. She would never want that, where would that leave poor Candy? I'll tell you where......being a background singer to a great vocalist such as Doogie!!! So why would she want any type of Rainbow / Purple reunion or even Ritchie doing a rock album of any sort. Being on the front lines, she can manipulate anything. Contracts for instance for albums.... long term deals can be structured in order to guarantee many years of more BN albums. Or should I call them BS albums. Here is a bit of news: this from an extremely reliable and close source to me who was close to the action. When Rainbow was still together and the first BN night album came out. Rainbow was still touring!!!!! Coral mentioned to this person - I do not care about Rainbow, All I care about is Blackmore's Night. / Of course she would, It was in the best intrest of her daughter!
Does Ritchie know all that goes on? I guess we will never know unless he is asked. I wonder if he really even cares any more. With the tour dates scheduled this year, which are not many, it is obvious, either he does not want to be on the road all that much any more, or is just not all that motivated to play with this band.
So there you have it. My opinion on the subject

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
He'd rather turmoil the fans if not knowing would do so, ya think? It's all over concerning his rock career, has been since BN started, this is semi retirment without keeling over, nothing more. You can't do the same thing forever, so he will be happy with the Geritol balance. His past glories obviously constituted enough to make a profit somewhere off of this, so in his mind there is no loss to speak of, and this might be his happines musically, for once.

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
I don't have much of an opinion on the "this is what Blackmore wants...retirement...blah blah..." subject, but I find it a little strange that he's been talking about being up for some MKII reunion shows of some sort if asked. If he's not interested In Rock ( ) anymore, why would he be up for some MKII shows?
I believe that his current mismanagement are working "around him" and "over his head" to prevent anything from happening that would completely take the spothlight of the highly talented Candise Night. It's easy to keep him in the dark when the rest of the bunch is family, working closely together to secure future fortunes.

Re: Coral Stevens: Enough is Enough
He has only mentioned the possibility of playing an entire show with them once, and he said it would have to have nothing to do with the management, so if you know him like I do, you know wat that means, it will never happen, because nothing happens without the management being involved.
It would have to be a secret show of somekind, then we wouldn't have much to say about it, as it would likely be played befre we find out.
That and the fact that otherwise all he has ever even romotely hinted at is doing a guest spot appearance, which we all know means joining them for three songs at the most.

Just three bars of a strat solo is better than three decades of BN.
Agree?

No doubt the two CCs have manipulated things to their own advantage, but that doesn't mean to say that Ritchie doesn't know what is going on or that he is being kept in the dark.
So what if he is? That doesn't mean that he is not doing want he wants to do. I think he is very happy doing what he is doing now.
....even if we're not.
