Dio Holy Diver live dvd
Just watched this for the first time in a wee while what a bloody good lineup of the band this was!Ronnie himself sounds a wee bit rough(hoarse) at times but still delivers big time.Doug Aldrich is a very talented amd underated guitarist(in some ways he suits Dio better than Whitesnake IMHO)Rudy Sarzo is still a great bass player and still pulls the most ridiculous poses Simon Wright is a good solid drummer(could do without the solo though)and Scott Warren has to be the most sour faced, strange and ridiculous character in any of the DP family bands(is he permanently wasted? remember seeing them in Glasgow on this tour and he kept walking off behind the scenes only to return point and pose a bit and dissapear again ) All in all really good energetic performance from the band and great material as well have to say nowadays I prefer Dio the band to Heaven and Hell in many ways having seen both recently I found H&H a bit plodding

I know what you mean.
If Spinal Tap were real, I would swear that he and Viv were somehow related.

Re: Dio Holy Diver live dvd
Having seen Dio a couple of years ago, and Heaven and Hell recently, I'd definitely take Dio. The H&H set was defintely plodding in places, whereas Dio cherry-picks the best solo/Rainbow/Sabs material to produce a well-balanced set. I much prefer Goldy to Aldrich, but yes, Dio all the way.
Plus you get to see Dio in reasonably close quarters, instead of an aircraft hangar.
