Jon the actor
Read somewhere that Jon appeared on this b/w TV series in the early 1960s, well, it's coming to DVD now. Not sure if any of the episodes will feature Mr. Lord.

Hey SB, any chance you remember where you read this about Jon?
Just curious, as I recall his only actual acting stint being on The Dating Game in the US in 68, which can hardly be called real "acting."
Looks like drama school didn't pay off, but his musical prowess did.

Re: Jon the actor
Cheers. I have never heard of such film.
I just thought of looking at the credits more closely and sure enough, it's George Harrison's HandMade who produced the film!
It's on DVD, have to get a copy!

Re: Jon the actor
Here's an article that says Lord had a small part in the Emergency Ward Ten series:
http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Jon-Lord
I suppose the only way to find out if Lordy is on the DVD is to actually watch it. Which I wouldn't mind doing at all!

I saw it years ago. It was ok but nothing memorable (I'd forgotten it until you mentioned it ).
Jon and the other musicians don't have speaking roles. They play the part of a band at a benefit concert in part of the film. They're on screen for several songs, I think, but I can't really remember what.
I didn't know it was George Harrison's company that made it, but that explains how they got such an incredible line-up of musicians for it!
