BSM Treble boosters
Thought I should start a new thread away from the RBTC thread...
These appear to be fairly new onto the market, with an emphasis on Blackmore's tone.
Here's a youtube example of a guy using one attempting the Burn solo...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb5OF9eAQdI
Here's the manufacturer's link (German company)...
http://www.treblebooster.net/
and here's a review....
http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2007/Sep/Her_Majestys_Tone_Request.aspx
Quite what the British School Of Motoring knows about guitar tone, I don't know.
--- Jeff Beck's brilliant. Honest.

Re: BSM Treble boosters
Click the artists button on the manufacturer's website, scroll down and you'll find that Mr B owns an HS-C etc...not to say he actually uses it, but....?

It's lovely isn't it? The manufacturer sends Blackmore a unit and then he is able to list him as an "owner". (At least they had the taste to separate the "players" and the "owners")
Actually I think these treble boosters are fine but you might want to try them with your amp to see if it works for you.

Aye. Hand on my heart, I can say that when we had Blue Tone we only gave away one single amp. Everyone else listed on the website paid for it, and all of the quotes were genuine.
There was one particular, and very famous, player who emailed asking to try one and we couldn't get the amp back for ages, and he wouldn't pay for it. I chased this guy for 18 months and we did finally get paid for the amp. He never gave us a quote, either, so he never appeared on the website, but c'est la vie, eh!
Lots of top players get gear flung at them, and some of them stick it all in a lock up and forget they even have it!
Having said all that, I do have my doubts that Mr B would allow his name and image to be associated with the BSM product unless he approved, or there was something in it for him? Maybe the guy who owns BSM knows Mr Engl! Who knows. But i never used a player's image, or name, with Blue Tone unless they gave me their permission.

He's obviously a good guitarist but it seemed a bit soulless to me. Repeating almost note for note Richie's improv.
I'm not sure Richie was using Engl amps during the Mk3 period either.
It's much easier for you guitarists to copy things, I'd have to get a Hammond C3, customize it, 2 Leslie 147's (during the Whitesnake era Jon used 4!) some Crown Amplifiers.... AAAUGGHH!

I'm sure Blackmore didn't use Engl amps during the MKIII period. They were'nt invented at the time.
I think Blackmore started to use them after he left Purple in 1993. He still used Marshalls during the Battle Tour.
