I have a customised Mexican 70s Strat, natural body and maple fingerboard.
I think the Mexican Strats beat American standards any day.
Me too. I have a Japanese Strat with scalloped fingerboard, but my Mex Strat blows it away (as good as the former is).
But then, my Mex has a DiMarzio Yngwie pickup in the neck, DiMarzio HS-3 in the bridge, and Schaller locking tuners. The Jap doesn't.
Also have a customized Ibanez RG with double locking whammy set up..I'm kind of growing out of that one, as strange as it may sound.

Re: What guitar(s) do you guys use?
I've got a Les Paul, An SG, Three Stratocastors, A Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro 24, A Firebird VII, A PRS singlecut, and I've just got a Musicman Morse Y2D (Deep Purple Burst). Out of all these guitars I tend to use the strats the most. I think thats probably due to Ritchies influence. But I must say that the Eggle and the PRS are superb. The Y2D is fantastic and built like a strat so may well get played out along with the strats. GAS is a great affliction

Re: What guitar(s) do you guys use?
£1450 from PJs in Southsea. Wanted the Purple Sunset with trem, but would have to wait till september, DP burst with trem in country and delivered (to PJs)next day. Got the matching headstock at no extra cost (normally £75). Also this deal got PJs the musicman dealership so they can get better discount.

Re: What guitar(s) do you guys use?
I have a US strat with a floating Wilkinson-copy tremelo (like a Floyd-Rose but Fender size) and I have tried a wide range of pickups in it. My absolute fav pickups are the vintage single-coil Seymour Duncan SSL3 (Hot) or SSL4 (Quarter Pounder). However they hum badly under certain conditions and I cannot risk that as I play regularly - this has sometimes ruined the night for me. So, I now use Seymour Duncan HotRails - which do not quack but are hum free and sound good with the Strat. Ideally I want the full overwound power but with a 'glass' quack - yet I am not going to get that... The Dimarzio HS3 are a mix of the two but have a very weak output and they need to be driven very hard - and therefore you may as well keep the standard Fender pickups...

The HS-3s sound fantastic when couple with the Yngwie preamp overdrive pedal and the Boss Ns-2 Noise Supressor

Re: What guitar(s) do you guys use?
I've got a standart Mex-Strat but I've modded it a bit; Installed the Quarterpounders, changed the pots (that done a lot to the sound...)
I use the standart Strat vintage tremolo and never had any problems with it.
I think I won't stop modding my Strat until I got the sound I have in my head, so I'm going to buy a MTC from Dawk later this year and also an original Hornby Skewes (I've tried it out, wow.... )
Fortunately my Strat was a good choice, I've compared it to some custom shop Strats and mine sounded as good as they...
cheers
