JLT & Cem Koksal - live in istanbul review
First of all, for those who don't know about Cem Koksal (www.cemkoksal.com), he's Turkish guitarist playing neo-classical rock. He is heavily influenced by Malmsteen (no surprise there, right ). They've played together before, and had a huge succesful tour in Turkey. They even released a dvd and cd of the tour. Coming to the show, firstly they sounded really great. Great playing, and I don't remember even a moment when JLT sounded out of pitch. The setlist included PS, I surrender, SOTW, LLRNR, Spotlight Kid, and surprisingly Can't Let You Go. That is a great great tune. They had some other classics, i just don't recall them all.
One final thing, JLT has some kind of a vocal processor. He uses it to add an harmonic, as if there's a back vocalist. The problem is, although it works perfect, he sometimes forgets to turn it off. It sounded funny when he had it on when it wasn't neccesary.
