One great show! They dont make em like that no more! Lot's Gillan arse-lickers here putting down Joeleen but the fact is this line up was light years ahead of what there is today. And there aint a single post 1994 show that would even hope of reaching the level of this or many other great 1991 shows.

I find it very difficult to compare Ian Gillan with Joe Lynn Turner, as they are very different singers, musically, technically and in every way.

Following Gillan's advise not to look at rock music like it was any sort of olympic competition, but rather appreciate everyones contribution for what it is on it's own, I find it very interesting to compare how the band Deep Purple remain the same yet turn into something totally different with these two very different singers.

Even MkV did some very good performances by any standard, as much as MkII did not live up to the Made In Japan level every night. I believe, though I don't know how to prove this, that the best gig MkV ever did was far better than the worst MkII ever did.

On the average there's still no doubt that MkII did truly build DP's legacy on the stage, while MkV did not overall contribute too much in that respect.
