Disappointed
Gotta say, bit disappointed that since I last posted only 37 people have checked out the new songs on myspace. There must be more people here than attend Motherwell at the weekend.
Still those who did have had a wee treat, unlike the Fir Park Club members, except that a pint cost 50p and a snog.

Re: Disappointed
The Cornerstone concert in Belgium was so expensive. We don't even have money for speakers for the computer.

Re: Disappointed
In my tent, on the campsite they dont allow speakers. So you can come and visit in silence with no music no computers, just the sound of birds and waterfalls, poetry reading, rune stones, solitude.
Ah!!! Arran the most peaceful place in the world. Nice to be home.

Heard the new Empire album over my main-stereo now. Wow!!!! Excellent, Dougie. "Child of the Light" is my favourite.
Of course I'll buy it when it comes out and hope you'll sign it if (hopefully when) we see us again.
Two songs sound a little bit razzorbakish but else it is brillant.

Re: Disappointed
Could not have said it better myself )
Chasing shadows" is Rolf Munkes fourth album with Neil Murray (ex-Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake...) by his side.
On the first album "Hypnotica" (2001) Lance King (Balance Of Power, ex-Pyramaze, Shining Star, Avian) was the lead singer , the next two albums "Trading souls"(2003) and "Raven ride" (2006) feature Tony Martin (Black Sabbath, Company of Snakes) as their singer.
On "Chasing shadows" it's no less than Doogie White ( Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, Cornerstone) who is the vocalist. The exact right choice for Rolf Munkes, as the songs are all very much Doogie White's style. More than once Cornerstone influences are perceptible but because of Munkes guitarstyle it's still typical Empire. World class drummer Mike Terrana ( Masterplan, Axel, Rudi Pell...) hits the drums as expected and fills all the gaps professionally and with Neil Murray he forms the perfect rhythm section.
For those who expect me to give you a list of what's good or what's better I can be short : all 10 songs are of excellent quality, I did not hear an inferior track. From note one on the opening- and titletrack until the last track "The rulers of the world" it's pure joy. Melodic rock and masterly craftsmanship.
I think it's unnecessary to use any more superlatives. It simply is the perfect release for fans in this genre and that's why "Chasing shadows" will be on top of my 2007 list. A compulsary buy from November 23rd.
