Re: White Noise Dvd
Yes. I have it, I was at the concert. I'm the idiot that shouts out Joshi after track 2. I think.
It was good to hear the old Rainbow tunes again though.
BTW....The editing of the dvd is terrible. Those snippets of film where the crowd are going wild for White Noise were actually nicked from when the crowd were going wild for Uriah Heep. This concert was at one of Heeps Magician Birthday Parties and during White Noise, the majority of the crowd were unfortunately quite sedate.

Re: White Noise Dvd
Happy days Dave.
BTW....Off to Riga this evening to see The Reasoning (Rachel Jones ex Karnataka's) band. Saw them at The Borderline last year and well worth checking out. If you're round this way, give me a knock and I'll lend you their album.

Re: White Noise Dvd
I was and remain extremely disappointed in the White Noise DVD. When I got the rushes through of the first edit, I had some changes I wanted to make including a total remix of the sound which was woeful. As it turns out this was the FINAL cut, edit and mix. It remains a low point for me as the show was better than the DVD illustrates. The sound appears to be a direct feed from the mixing board and the promise of bonus material was misleading to say the least. All in all a most unsatisfactory way to represent the hard work and effort the Mostly Autumn band and crew put in.
Incidently when I was approached originally about the tour I wanted to have Cornerstone
involved but the promoter, or whoever nixed that and wanted MA and the SIUA tracks.
The DVD has a bit of a Dalek about it in that I have seen it once and hid behind the sofa in abject terror. It is truely shocking and that is why I have done nothing to advertise nor promote this.

Re: White Noise Dvd
thanks for sharing Doogie
it's a shame about the production, as the idea behind the concerts were great, and you are in excellent voice!!!
any chance of you doing a live dvd on your own sometime soon??

Re: White Noise Dvd
It's worth getting, despite the artist disagreeing. It's corking to hear Tarot Woman live, and overall, early Friday night, a sixpack of beer and a few mates (who brought their own beer...) who like good rock, it's solid entertainment for sure!
Musically, the most interesting thing about it is to hear the Rainbow tunes played by a guitarist whose style is different to RB's and unlike most tribute band people do, this guy (Josh) isn't trying to outplay RB's original solos, so it's interesting. Also, Never the Rainbow is my favourite tune from MA and sounds very good sung by Doogie.
