Fae Doogie
Vocalist Doogie White and Yngwie Malmsteen have decided to part company after 6 and a half years together. Doogie joined the band in Sept 2001 and recorded two albums Attack and Unleash the Fury.
"I had a long chat with Yngwie today and it is clear that he wants to move musically in a new direction. It's great news that he will be expanding on his undoubted talents both as a writer and guitarist. I just want to thank, publicly, Yngwie and the many band members past and present that I have worked with. It seems appropriate that we started our working relationship in South America in Sept 2001 and finished in South America in Dec 2007."
"Now anyone need a singer??"

Re: Fae Doogie
Hi Doogie
Had no idea you were still involved with YM.
I wonder what a "new direction" could be for him... Hurdy Gurdy?

He has reportedly been seen in a new age tights shop in London just recently

Re: Fae Doogie
Yes, a Rainbow reunion. Call Blackers!
Oh, I heard Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo are looking for a singer in L.A.
Not sure if Sarzo is still with Dio, but Aldridge is out of Whitesnake.
Give them a call!!!!!

Re: Fae Doogie
Or, you could call Rudy and Aldridge and John Sykes and do a Blue Murder album!
Or, you could call Aldridge and Marco Mendoza and do a Whitesnake tribute thing...
Or, you could call Greg Smith and Aldridge and do a Rainbow tribute...
Or, you could call Jon Lord and Blackmore and do a DP tribute to Mark Morse (just kiddin)

Re: Fae Doogie
It must have been quite an experience to work with Malmsteen, Doogie.
Hopefully another good opportunity like that will come to you asap!
John, are you serious with the tribute things? There have been great ones (e.g. the Maiden tribute Doogie's on), but if an artist's output is dominated by tribute albums. I'm sure Doogie's looking for something more original?
As for tributes, I remember when they started coming out in the 1990s. There was stuff like "the LA Guitar Authority plays Blues Classics". I thought, a) who? b) why? c) thanks but I'll pass - I rather crank on Howlin Wolf or the Fabulous Thunderbirds!

Re: Fae Doogie
I was part serious and part joking about the tribute thing.
Actually, I like some tribute albums, and others I think are weak, but any band could have the same problem.
Take Led Zep 4 vs. Coda, as an example. There's a difference.
Anyhow, Doogie did a great job with Yngwie, and some of the songs are among my favorites.
Who's to say, maybe Doogie can do some original material with the people I mentioned also... I was just making suggestions... although the Blackmore/Lord/White tribute thing to Mark Morse was not serious.
